18:40 In the 638.0 workshop manual (1986) it's 25:1 for running in and 33:1 for normal running (to prevent oil starvation of the centre crank bearings). I've always run my Jawa 632, 634 & 638 engines at 33:1 and the the crank centre bearings last for over 50,000 kilometres.
Really? Hmmm, then it is worth considering. My info is 1:50.
@@REBUILDLab oil and spark plugs are cheap, engine overhauls are expensive, I run my Jawas (Tramp and Twin Sport) 30:1.
@@andrewallen9993 sure, yes, as I said, worth considering, I will try out, but what bothers me is, that it will be very smelly. Don´t like that. What kind of oil do you use?

On nalil do nádrže olej, a pak benzín z kanystru. To si jako myslí, že se mu to promíchá???? Žasnu přímo!!!! Jako kdyby nemohl ten olej kápnout do kanystru a párkrát ho otočit vzhůru nohama.

Kraken, olej pre dvojtaktne motory ma vybornu miesatelnost s benzinom. Ak sa nepremiesa pri nalievani benzinu do nadrze, tak preco by sa mal v samotnej bandaske? Samozrejme ze sa zmiesa tam aj tam. Dvojtaktami jazdim desatrocia a vzdy som to tak robil. Je to v poriadku, funguje to.
...alebo premiestnit z benzinolku kaniser s miešavadlom...dolná polovica kanistra je červenej farby...a má rukovat na miešanie benzinu s olejom M2T...a ked tankuješ doma bez spominaného kanistra,tak nalejes olej do nádrze,a následne aj benzin,a ono sa zmieša...v krátkosti...

Hi Andy, maybe there is, but I didn't see any... Besides, there would be the need of synchronising them, the gas linkage and so on. Aftermarket injection would be better I guess
You missed out the front engine mounting rubber protection block, which stops the mounting plate welds cracking from the excessive vibes from the 638 engine. I have a 632.1 that I installed a 638 engine into, without the protective block, and it cracked the front mounting plate weld on the frame after 10 months. I haven't gotten around to repairing it yet.
I am not sure what you mean. Maybe you can give a link to it. This engine was runninig ages as it was assembled.
Ahoj. Pecka! Super celá série!!! Prosím tě, ty obrázky (převodovka, atd.) Z jaké to máš knížky? Žiju v zahraničí. Snažím se na svých 350-639 dělat všechno sám, ale nemám žádnou příručku. co se týče demontáže motoru.

I've always set the timing to the 2.8mm. BTDC upper limit on all my Jawa & CZ twins, because t gradually wears down to 2.5mm. BTDC.
Can be, I bought an electronic ignition, which I will install, when I come to it. This mechanical one is extremely hard to set up the same for both cylinders. Also the engine runs rough at constant speed or with very gas/load
Maybe it hangs with set up of the carb together, but I tryied different setups and nothing. I think it really is a charactertictic of a two stroke engine, this rough running at low loads...

Budíky, teda palubovka je zo 640-ky.
A čo tam je vľavo na kraji, teplomer ?
Kde je zapojený? Ako? Má to reálne výpovednú hodnotu?

Pozor! Väčšina moderných 2T olejov je predriedená.
Aj tento.
Treba dať viac, nad rámec predpísaného pomeru, bez rozdielu na režim, zábeh alebo bežná premávka. Cca tak o 10-15 %
Ahoj Jozef, dakujem za koment, nejaky filter tam byt musi a toto je jednoducha volba...a co vlastne pouzivas? Na kraji je teplomer, je to zo 120iny, cidlo v niecom zaliate, prisrobovane k hlave medzi valcami a pred nim ke clona. Ma to hodnotu, jasne, normalne bezi motot tak na 110 v lete a za dazda tak na 70. No, o tom neviem, ze by bol olej riedeny, je to syntetika a tie redsie, lepsie sa miesaju s benzinom, menej usad, spolahlivesjsie mazanie pre vzduchac. Palubovka taka bola, chcem dat el. otackomer a digi tachac. Tie lanka to je zle, ked sa zmeni sekund koliesko, tak to uz neukazuje spravne, cele je to rozkmitane a tak. Mam palubku jednobudik zo 634, tak to nejak sklbim. Uvazujem nad inym zapalkom.

Používam filter, ale s plastovým sitkom vovnútri, nie s papierovou vložkou.
Budíky ako také nevadia, len ja som chcel nechať pôvodný dizajn, aj keď mám drobné rozdiely voči dobovej výroby.
A olej?

No fakt, nejaka predriedovacia zlozkatsm je. Neviem ako si to vysvetlit, ci je olej nariedeny, alebo je to zlozka oleja, ktora ulahcuje riedenie s benzinom. No ale hlavne pocitam s lepsimi vlastnostami celkovo oproti m2t, na kt. bezala masina pred tym. Jo, uz rozumiem tomu Tvojmu filtru, myslel som, ze je rec o vzduchovom :D

Jestli ti muzu poradit s tou nadrží zkus ji vylit kyselinou citronovou s horkou vodou a pak to vylej barvou na nadrze

Gas tanks can be cleaned with Coke Cola. White vinegar (a solvent of iron) also works, but not as good as Coke Cola.
Pour a 2 litre bottle of Coke Cola into the gas tank and leave it for 24 hours. The phosphoric acid dissolve all the rust.
IMPORTANT!! Don't drink the Coke Cola from the gas tank afterwards even though it will probably taste better than Pepsi Max.
