I believe that the Midnight Sun is one of the most impressive symbols brought to us by the Indo-European peoples in their collective mythos. The depth to its meaning inspires strength and invokes divinity. Veils upon veils of meaning.

That was cool. I've heard descriptions of the black sun in several contexts. Going back to Sumar and ancient Egypt. The Buddhist describe the duality of nature as an illusion because all things are one. This includes our tendencies of light and dark emotions. Just as Jung said. The shadow of the shadow is ourselves.
But the REAL hidden meaning of the Black Sun is this...the Sun is a wormhole. It has a black interior. It is a gateway for star travel. All of this deceptive satanic Alchemical stuff is meaningless. I’m so fascinated by this!
You'll find this in Plutarch, but Kingsley's "In the Dark Places of Wisdom" is an excellent resource for the notion of a more esoteric Apollo.

Is the Statue of Liberty actually a statue of Murcury or Apollo? Lady Liberty has been compared to Murcury - featured on Adolph Weinman's "Murcury Dime." The symbol of liberty on one side, is contradicted by the Fasces, a Roman symbol of power and punishment, on the other side. Similarly, the "Statue of Liberty" is chained at the ankle.
Adolph Weinman has Masonic ties through his work on various Masonic lodges but it is unclear if he was an actual Freemason. The contrast of liberty with symbols of oppression leads me to question the motives of creation. It appears that the symbolism can't be taken at "face value."

It is precisely for this reason that I bristle against the comfortable logical inference that darkness is simply the absence of light. We know as much about Light as we do about the luminous Darkness. In fact, Absolute Light is Darkness.
