    I purchased a John Deere Z370R All Electric Zero Turn Mower. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!
    I have mowed 2.5 acres on a single charge. Pretty amazing all electric ⚡️ product. The best part is no maintenance and no loud engine sounds. The charging time is about four hours, not that bad. You won’t be sorry if you purchase one.

    I have no use for a ZTM, but watched for the algorithm. If anyone cares about rattles/squeaks, run a strip of butyl tape along the top side of the canopy bracket before installing the top. The noise and vibration of our Polaris Ranger was awful before doing that for its roof and seat.

    I have to recommend Ferris. Yes, they're pricey, but the quality is outstanding, the comfort of the sprung suspension with shocks is amazing, and mine sips fuel like no other mower I've ever had. It has the 28hp B&S IC engine with the 500 hour oil system. A buddy of mine has the same mower, and we're both astonished at how many hours of mowing we get out of 11 gallons.
    It's a 2017, and the only problems I've had were my fault. I smashed the left fuel gauge by getting too close to the deck overhang on the house, and I plowed into a large patch of 6 foot tall blackberry bushes (I hate those things!) and one of the times I was backing up, the wiring to the mower deck clutch got yanked out.
    Both were easy to fix, but overall, I cannot find anything about the mower to bitch about. I treat this mower like it's a brush hog, and take it places most people wouldn't. It's both a beast and a beauty, and cuts everything from grass to 2" saplings.
    I've always just used the forks on my tractor for blade swapping, but I do like the idea of the tongue jack!
    I have the same swivel jack on my smallest trailer, but instead of swiveling it for travel, I just pull the PIP pin and toss the jack in the bed of my truck. I will definitely buy a new one for my mower, weld the bracket on, and at blade change, just pop the jack on. I'm excited about that idea!
    Last thing, (you asked us to comment 😋) I'd have those roofs made in white plastic, or I'd paint the top white to reflect more of that heat. Being in the shade is great, but sitting directly under a 140°F roof ain't.
    Great video! 😁👍

      I completely agree - black is way too hot! I decided to make my own canopy for this reason another reason is I wanted the water to be able to run off the back or sides instead of the flat roof. And the final reason is I needed it to be removable quick without tools because I travel with the tractor a lot. Check it out here: czcams.com/video/RzP4THg0Mds/video.html
      I like GWT's shade but not quite what I wanted and I didn't want to sacrifice one of my reasons.

      I understand this in principle, but it has not been an issue even in the slightest of ways. I've sat dead still under these canopies in the baking sun and felt no radiant heat coming from them. There aren't any sides, this isn't touching your head, and 99% of the time its being used while you're moving. There is a breeze or airflow moving anyways. It is a nonfactor. It is a misconception.
      Similar to when folks tell me to remove my bucket while brush hogging because it's blocking the airflow from entering my engine compartment for cooling. I'm going 2 mph, nothing is getting blocked 😂

    • @PeaceIntheValley
      @PeaceIntheValley Před rokem

      @@GoodWorksTractors that's a good point and probably right. The difference for open air is probably a small percentage. it does make a big difference in an RV if the roof is white or not but that is generally closed and not moving when in it.

    Deere 997. I think it's a 2004? The diesel sips fuel and the lift on the blades along with the tip speed clears grass well and does not create as much dust as other zeroes with higher tip speeds. I mow one old cornfield and another property with a old vegetable garden, both are rough but this mower is built really rugged. Two of the properties I mow are on highways so I use the same trash/grabber set up. The Deere blades are better steel and hold their edge. Our front yard is 5 acres with over 100 hundred trees and bushes so I seldom get to mow a straight line but my wife is happy. I have suggested to JD the addition of a cab with AC. Deer 345, 445. 455. 955, 997, 4720. Blessed for sure. I have mowed 3 food ministry properties for free for 21 years now. Not bragging, paying it forward. I have used your code twice, thanks!

    I can vouch for Hustler Zero Turns, I bought mine in 2016 with the 26 hp Kohler Engine & have beat the ever loving hell out of that thing & she’s still running. I did break the 5/16 hex frame bolts that secure the transmission to the frame from the frame twisting over & over again on extremely contrasting angles of ground, & have replaced both drive & deck belts. But for what I’ve put it thru I feel like it’s held up extremely well.

    I cut 32 acres across 18 residential properties with a 72" zero turn and don't have any scalping issues. Getting in and out of ditch lines requires some caution, but that's true with any width mower. Once you've cut with a 72" mower there is no going back.

    My 930M so far so good no problems. 2017 model. Just added the rear tweels, much better ride with the suspension seat. I added a light bar in the front with a spot/flood combo. The jack is cool, but I have a lift that picks the front up higher. I like the canopy and front tweels, though my fronts are solids. My only complaint is the MOD. It does OK, feel it could be better. If I sell it, the only other mower would be a Gravely Mach 1 or 3 with the 60". I know a lot of people who sold their John Deere for Gravely's and a couple that went to Hustler's. The cuts are better on those from me just eyeing. I'd choose the Gravely because the features, cut, and told that their service department is better than John Deere

      I have a 2021 Gravely Mach one with 60” deck and it will really cut some tall grass with the deck design it has….I cut a lot of municipalities that do not get much maintenance and when I show up the grass has usually 3 to 4 weeks of growth on it….I have Scag and hustlers and have had quite a few other brands through the years but when in deep grass wet or dry I always have to make three or four passes to clean most properties that have a foot of growth with mixed grasses and weeds…Since I’ve been using the Mach One I can slick most of my properties off in two passes and has cut my time almost in half on my overgrown properties it’s one heck of a mower!

    As a die hard Deere tractor man, I’ve gotta say scag for the win with zero turns. Their build quality, as well as the quality of cut the Velocity Plus deck puts out is second to none imo. I’ve got a 61” turf tiger II and it’s an absolute tank and beast of a mower. 3ft tall field grass? It doesn’t care. Chews it up and spits it out like there’s no tomorrow. Got a nice lawn that just needs trimming? It’ll make it look perfect, every time. I’ve got the 40hp Vanguard and wouldn’t have it any other way.

    I picked up a z trak 717a 48”, with a few hundred hours on it 4 years ago. Was used by an older woman to mow around her log home and pond. It was barn kept and the seat was in great condition. Needed front tires (which are a nightmare to change yourself btw) an a general service, as well as a deck lift rubber pedal cover. Runs amazing. I mow about 2 acres a week with it now, and once a month an extra acre of septic plot. I have a set of standard lift blades, and a set of gator blades. I like the gator blades for fall and standard blades cut thicker wet grass better. The 717a doesn’t have ROPS, but I don’t have much for slope to worry about. Came with a 19hp Kawi, that I have at around 21hp now with a throttle plate mod. And bc the 717a doesn’t have any seat suspension I built my own spring seat pan, which isn’t as good as anything out today, but makes all the difference on a septic field full out. There was a space for a light switch, so I welded up some brackets and bolted some 48watt led floodlights basically in the same spot your light kit is. Evening mowing is great to hear the heat. There aren’t many “options” for this mower anymore, but it’s the smoothest running z I’ve run. I’ve run a couple toros, and I’m not impressed. Run a kubota which was pretty darn nice, and a few larger Deere Zs. I’d love to get tweels but they are not offered for mine.

    Have a 2021 John Deere z994 diesel with the fastback rear discharge deck, tweels, and suspension seat. Mow about 8 acres. Diesel engine can power through anything I have encountered. Is fuel efficient and with an 11 gallon tank I can mow for a long time without having to refuel. Love everything about the mower. Tweels seem to ride a little smoother and get good traction in wet conditions. Because the mower weighs about 1700 lbs you do have to be careful with your turns or you can tear up some turf. Came with a 3 year 1500 hour warranty.

    I bought the soft canopy kit for a Bad Boy Magnum (no ROPS). From about 10AM-2PM it's worth its weight in gold. Outside of those hours, it's a useless branch-catcher. If you want to ensure that you're somehow never able to mow before 3PM, invest in a canopy. 🤣

    I've had a Rhinohide canopy on my BX for a few years - really keeps the sun off you! And I've found it keeps me dry during a quick downpour too. Pretty durable - I've hit many tree limbs and snagged vines on it and never damaged it. Haven't been shot at yet, so I probably can't call it bullet proof...

  • @johnsonslawnserviceministr4038

    Those are nice if you had a cub cadet commercial, it would’ve came with a place to put a ball hitch and a striper kit comes on the decks for the old cub cadet commercials. From everything that I have seen and heard, no one beat Ferris on the ride, whether it is a stand on or a sit down. Some pros say the Ferris stand on is easier on your back and knees than the sit down. Of course, some say a Ventrac will actually mow faster than a ZTM on a large yard if you are using their huge wide area mower deck.

    I bought a z930m 54" for personal use because in my opinion all the residential stuff at the box stores looked like it was going to fall apart in a couple of years. I got fed up with that quick drain plug leaking myself and bought a kawasaki oil drain hose. So far so good. I also put that jack on mine but I do put jack stands under just for extra security when under that heavy beast. I been looking at the z-glides to put on the front casters.

  • @JCWren
    @JCWren Před rokem +4

    Two questions: Does the ride seem bouncier or smoother with the tweels? And are you missing guards over the pulleys? I can't believe they would leave those open like that. Also, my only experience with ZTMs is the Scag Patriot 52". I bought the 52" because of the scalping issue. In retrospect, I'd prefer the 60", primarily because the deck extends further past the wheel than the 52" does, and that makes it easier to get up close to the chain link fence. But other than that, I've had no issues with the Scag, and it's 2 years old with just under 150 hours on it. I've only gotten in stuck once where I had to pull it out with the tractor :)

    As I watched your installation on your ztm,it appears to be mounted in the opposite direction. Did you do this because it looks better to you? Or did you even realize that one end is slightly taller than the other? Not intending to be negative of course, it just looks a little odd mounted that way. Love your channel by the way.
