Geez, this seems so inhumane.. Causing a creature this much pain is something I wish we’d agree should be illegal. It’s one thing to kill an animal for food, it’s another to cut it in half while it’s alive and leave it screaming on a table while you clean it.. If it’s conscious, it suffered a fate worse than any of us will ever be able to comprehend.. Specifically, I’m recalling a time in history when humans would cut up dogs, as they screamed in agony, humans believing the wailing was the same as the wailing a broken machine makes.. Some people still do this, but for different reasons.. Some people also used to believe humans of certain races were mindless, and could be mistreated because their suffering was less worthy of consideration..

This type of cooking method is called ikizukuri in Japanese, but there is still debate over its cruelty. One thing I can say is that we live by receiving the lives of living things. When you come to Japan, be sure to say "itadakimasu" before eating. It is a word that expresses gratitude for the blessings of nature that serve as ingredients for cooking. Sorry for my poor English.

That's why its hard to tell if they are actually that safe or idk how do they manage parasites that microscopic. And yet alive head is server with the meal. why would you want that? otherwise you wouldn't trust it to be fresh? WHY?
As a chef, I see SO many things wrong here! An animal is giving up a life to provide nourishment. This man has no respect for it! Can’t even be bothered to put on clean, rip free gloves before absolutely 100% messing up the cuts of lobster tail. Poor lobster deserved better than this!
I couldn't tell if those like velcro scraping sounds were the creature or not but it really made me upset in my stomach, It's just cruel. He also ruined the tail and had no respect for the damn thing

OK well that is NOT how you despatch a LOBSTER, hear that noise as he cuts off the lower part of it, just imagine someone cutting off your torso from the top half of your body, that is its screams. You need to cut down the middle of the top of a lobster to fully despatch it, this is just fkning cruel.

@orbitalpudding1946 also if you so smart, in the beginning of the video when the lobster was alive and moving. Why wasnt there any noise coming from the exo skeleton moving??? 🤔🤔
dude, i don't understand why is that they are so fckng cruel to those poor animals.... like, he can just give it a quick death but NO, somehow he decides to cut him open while the poor shrimp agonizes sometimes i dream of some superior beings, LoL, that cut people open while being alive just to give them the same cruelty that some people give to animals....
Only reasoning i see as to why they didn't stab it thru the head is for the asthetic plating to show it was a fresh kill. While I think its cool I do agree on humanely killing it too. Only other way I could think of is putting it in an ice bath to put it to sleep then go to work.
I definitely eat meat so i'm not judging, but aren'y you suppose to like...kill it before you cut it? Like a brain stab or something? The death screaming was terrible tbh
I would have put it in the freezer for 15 minutes, before just slicing into it..... to me the chef is cold hearted at least in the freeze it's a slow sleep ?
Cooks use tools to end its suffering in minutes, in nature, they will be killed more cruelly by other animals, don't be compassionate in this, you should watch more animal channels about animal hunting, they will even eat their own children!
The only part that I disagree in this video is how the clerk basically cut the body apart from its head but not kill it right at the scene beforehand. This has nothing to do with the one who's filming this. I respect how the locals prepare the food, but I disagree with the method they use. You can hear a lot of painful sounds from it when it has its body separated from it. Yes, I did search it up, they do make sound like this.

Presumably because you wouldn't want to be killed and especially not like this.
People say if you kill it, the meat will spoil. My brother in christ, by cutting it in half, even if its still alive the results are completely the same since the meat is exposed and no more life support comes to them, be humane and end it first
I once bought 3 different tunas and lobster cut up in small pieces. I placed them under a strong microscope and saw microscopic parasites you cant see in your own eyes.
That's why its hard to tell if they are actually that safe or idk how do they manage parasites that microscopic. Do those parasites gets burned or get cooked as well while your cooking the fish/lobster/shrimp meat?
Cooking kills them. That’s why you shouldn’t eat anything raw. Especially nowadays considering how freaking warm are oceans are, only makes parasites and viruses worse.
I’m pretty sure MOST bacteria and/or parasites die after being cooked.
Does it make those sounds or did it just happen in the background?

considering how it was reacting, no I don't think they severed the brain.

Imagine some cannib*l giving you a quick death and calling it "humane"
@@UFO339 Precisely why he quickly finished with you before starting to "Prepare" you is that it is said Human, why did he not make you suffer unnecessarily
if you are going to kill something to eat it, ok, but you have the options of "Make it suffer all the time that you are going to be dismembering it until it dies by itself" or "Kill it quickly and easily before you start cutting it" so that if the animal is in real pain (it's still up for debate but it's clear that it was) at least their last moments do not become hell

@@Whatthefudgecookie thank you!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘
PS: I don't think there's any species of shrimp that gets anywhere near that size. Though some members of some shrimp species can get rather large, those are outliers and they almost never get lobster-sized.
