  • How aspirin can induce bronchospasm? Even this drug inhibits cyclooxygenase pathway in irreversible way still it is not directly related to bronchospasm. Leukotrienes play key role in aspirin induced asthma.

    Sir, can you please explain me. How estrogens and progestins are used as anticancer ? And by which mechanism they are going to act ?

    • @egpat
      @egpat  Před 3 lety +1

      In cancer, they just work by negative feedback mechanism. Estrogens can reduce action of androgens while progestins can reduce both estrogens and androgens all these by their negative feedback mechanism.

    Thank you for details description about aspirin. I have one question. Among all NSAIDs only aspirin shows "anticoagulant" action. But why? and why others don't?

    • @egpat
      @egpat  Před 3 lety +2

      One of the main reason is that aspirin irreversibly inhibits COX enzyme in the platelets thereby it inhibits thromboxane A2 synthesis. Other NSAIDs have no such significant action on platelets to inhibit TX A2.

    Why does aspirin work on bronchial cells if theres no injury ? It only work on injuried cells where there is COX
