Woody the Talking Christmas Tree returns to Nova Scotia mall for yet another holiday season

- For the third year in a row, a gigantic talking Christmas tree has captured the imagination of young children throughout the Halifax area.
After a 15-year hiatus, Woody made headlines in 2021 when he popped up at the busy shopping centre following calls for his return from hibernation.
His unique appearance has stirred debate for decades now - since his introduction in the 1980s - and has even inspired a line of charity merchandise where proceeds go to the local children’s hospital.
As Global’s Heidi Petracek reports, whether you find him creepy or cute, he’s become a staple for residents and visitors of Dartmouth.

As children we adored going to see Woody every year, he's not creepy, he's cute. During a time of year when there was drinking and fighting, it was nice to have something for our innocence to hang on to.
He is magical, he may not be for everyone, but those of us that loved him, still do

I watched Face's new holiday special, and when I watched the Feliz Navidad song with Dora and Boots, I had images of him as this mall's Christmas tree instead of Woody 😂😂😂
They had a tree like this at bugaboo creek restaurants.( much smaller with an electronic mouth and eyes) It scared me as a kid and I reactively punched it in the eye knocking the whole possessed looking tree over while screaming

Christians should read Jeremiah 10:3-5. Christmas trees are an affront to the G-d of Israel. Now we have this abomination that will give children nightmares for life, a giant talking christmas tree. This is beyond idolatry, this is creepy as hell.

For me Christianity has always been more of an ancestral ethnic thing. Being a white NA of western European ancestry Christianity has been in my family heritage as far back as I know. Maybe cause Jesus was always white as far as I ever knew and the Pope has always been white. Christmas is just what my family has always celebrated. Other then that I have never been to church much in my life and don't care to. My views don't align with western churches.
