    What do the shunt resistance, series resistance and diode in the equivalent circuit of PV cell represent ?

    Sir, why you started with the PV relation of a simple diode ? what is the necessity of this PN diode curve ? why did not you started directly with the PV cell circuit ? in the PV cell equivalent circuit, what does the parallel diode represents ?

    Great video. Only question I have is regarding the resistances you included in the circuit. What is the logic in assuming those impedance? For instance, whether or not you place a shunt resistance as you show here, what difference does that make? Thank you

      due to the non-idealities of the constant values of current and voltages in the IV characteristic graph as shown

  • @Luzt.
    @Luzt. Před 4 lety

    There's a jump in reasoning when resistances are introduced. It is either "real diode" or "ideal diode + 2 resistors". Leaving the diode as it is and adding resistors makes no sense. Otherwise very good lecture and I know what I'm talking about having two degrees in electronics and electrical engineering. I'll watch a lot from this lecturer in the near future.

      Luzt , I agree with you. The diode in the first diagram should be replaced by the current source or he should explain why that diode is necessary.

  • @kishankalariya2485
    @kishankalariya2485 Před 3 lety +1

    Sir one question arriving that if diode is placed in parallel to current source than when diode is in forward mode it should short-circuit the path.
    Why current is flowing further.??

    • @sunilrtripathi4670
      @sunilrtripathi4670 Před 3 lety +1

      Dear Kishan,
      One explanation could be , the diode is having its internal resistance which can be very less resulting in maximum current being flowing through diode & rest current to the output load. That is why you can see the Voltage is reflected higher at the output port due higher drop at diode and current will be less at the output terminal.
      You can figure this out from the PV module specification of any brand , you will get to know that Voltage is much higher as compared to current . For instance , 365 Wp module having 72 cells have 40V Max Voltage & 9A Max Current.
      Hence the query that diode in connection with current sources resulting S.C is not practically possible otherwise the theory of solar PV would have been failed.
      Hope you got some idea !!!
