I love this game. This is my first video with my new computer, and I wanted to talk about XGRA (for GameCube). Four tracks recorded at 720p resolution. Three of them at SubSonic (in the career mode), last one is at UltraSonic (arcade mode with a very special bike).
I put this video together a bit strange because I wanted to practice my editing skills. All track introductions were moved to the beginning, so the rest is (almost) non-stop racing action.
SPOILER: On the last track I use the very-difficult-to-unlock Templar bike, and I play on Endurance because I like to be the last one standing at the end of a race. So Deathstrike and upgraded missiles galore. The track starts after a brief return to the bike selection footage, to show that I'll be using the Templar bike. In case you're curious how difficult it is to unlock this bike, you must come in first place and complete every contract in the entire career mode - I think that's nearly 50 races. I used to play this game for hours on end and managed to earn it on GameCube. During the making of this video (after the first three tracks were already edited together), I decided to see how hard it was to get my old game saves into Dolphin. With the use of a soft-modded Wii, easy would be an understatement.

Ubisoft or EA? Extreme-G? Bad idea, buddy. In-app purchases for half the bikes. That's what would happen if Ubi or EA took over these games.

I enjoy playing a vehicle with rockets on Endurance, getting a couple DeathStrikes, then taking my time to mow everyone down until I'm the last one standing. :)

Thing is, the other teams with good grip (Starcom and the secret Templar team) have weapons that make the game way too easy: Rockets. After two kills, these things turn into unstoppable killing machines. I mean, a swarm of homing missiles? That's just cheap.

@@hannahmonteiro9229 Cheap is fun when you play by yourself. I avoid using a bike with rockets if I'm playing some couch multiplayer, though.

XGiii is still the best, xgra was a 1/2 remaster and it was shit.

To my knowledge, none of the previous games in the series were similar enough to use the word "remaster". You're certainly welcome to prefer the slower, easier, simulation-style pace of XGIII, I quite enjoyed that game also. I'm sorry you have such a poor opinion of the arcade-style racing of XGRA; is there something specific, besides the "remaster" bit, that you don't like? I understand if it's the difficulty.

@@MegamanXGold dude xg3 was the fastest...
it's how SLOW and CLUNKY xgra is that I don't like and why I said it's pretty much a remaster because it has the same SHITTY qualities as the first 2

I understand the music isn't for everyone, and I love both game's soundtracks. On this subject, I recommend Synesthesics Extreme-G remix album (link at the bottom of this comment).
But I had to go watch some XG3 footage to try and make sense of your first statement. The shield effect in XG3 has a nicer glow but has less of an animation, in XG3 there's a satisfying puff of smoke from attacks, and the boost has a nice shock diamond effect that XGRA lacks. Some of the XG3 levels give the impression that it exists in a lived-in world.
Each level in XGRA has the feeling there could be stories behind it. Even the (admittedly cringe) intros add to the immersion by often saying something about the track that is relevant to the environment. There's just so much more thought put into the levels and, even though these details aren't things you focus on during play, the tracks feel more alive.
I played a lot of XG3 before I finally got my hands on XGRA, and when I first fired it up I was in awe of its graphics and detail. Perhaps I can't take my nostalgia goggles off, so I can't really say for sure, but somehow I'm not confident your assessment of the game's look is entirely objective. Nothing wrong with a subjective opinion that it looks bad, though.
In my opinion, the only bad things about the game's look in this video, which I later solved, were the culling (popping in and out of objects because of the Widescreen hack) and the video recording. Perhaps the worst parts of XGRA are worse than XG3, that's entirely possible. But the best parts of XGRA leave XG3 in the dust.
