Good info! I'm at max pts for deer but am a little nervous I'll be wasting them by applying this year after the bad Winter a couple years ago! That said, it seems like they always kill big bucks regardless!
Great state. I won't be applying until next year. Gotta get financing taken care of this year.
I have 5 points for Deer and 5 points for Antelope. I'll buy points until I hit 9 each so I can have a chance at good units with good access in the regular draw.
By the time you hit 9 points it will take 15 points to draw the tag that you want
I have 7 points for PH and have chased point creep 3-4 years in a row. This year I'm applying for a 5 point unit and hoping creep doesn't get me again. 🤞
@@teamkrugg446 I have a pretty active hunting season with my NM draws so I have to buy points to wait until at least next year.
I don't play the point game for WY antelope or deer. Just hope for a random draw tag. I do somewhat play the elk point game but I've been lucky & drawn on the random draw twice in 6 years so points didn't matter for me
Randy your absolutely right about not waiting till the last minute, last year I waited till the last day to apply for a bonus point and it was just a couple hrs till deadline and I had issues signing in , I sent a email to game and fish but didn’t get a response till the next day. They got issue fixed but I missed out on getting points. Totally my fault. I won’t be doing that this year. I’ll be ready on July 1st.
Yep I missed last year as well. Had 10 alarms and notes written and still forgot 😂 I was so mad
Decided on a whim to apply this year, gona try and grab a region B or A deer tag as my 2nd or 3rd choice. Sadly I'll become a SD resident a few days after the deadline to apply there closes☹.
What is the difference between a “region” and a “unit” deer tag. For instance units 121, 122, 124, 127 are all in region X. Go hunt only lists draw odds for the individual units… but within region x they all say 100%. If you apply for a unit are you getting a tag for the whole region similar to how Colorado has some units where if you draw a tag it’s also good for a couple of adjacent units? Or is the region tag a different application and draw odds?
I have 7 NR points for pronghorn this year and I never intended to save up points. The last 3-4 years I haven't drawn due to point creep. Here we go again...
Kind of depressing, I thought of hunting pronghorn in 2025, bought a point last year, not sure about buying another now, especially as I feel a little bit guilty travelling across the pond to hunt your animals, I need to have a think, thanks for the educational video.
Naw man don’t feel bad every state needs the non resident money for conservation. Some other non resident is gonna take the tag anyway
@@Lexidezi225 that you, that is very true....I will have a little think
Great information. Planning on putting in for Wyoming this year. Would be my first western hunt. Say u draw a tag for a unit, is it possible to get another tag for a doe?
Yes
Hey Randy, my Dad, brother, and nephew are applying for deer this year . My brother has two points and the others none. Is it better for them to apply as a group or as singles?
Randy please do a video on how to apply for tags in California 🙏
You mean Comifornia? Lol. It's not worth it unless your a resident financially compared to most states. (I was born there but been gone 6 years)
@@cr250racer09 I’ve had friends have a lot of success in California with deer, pigs, and antelope! It’s hard hunting but it’s worth It if you put in the time and work
@@cr250racer09in my state now right? Nevada is filled with y’all. California isn’t bad for myself tho I live so close. I can hunt deer or black bear for the same price as anywhere else. If you think your going to hunt elk there your mistaken. I say this and still haven’t hunted there I can’t even drive there with my daily carry knife and pistol let alone most of my rifles I don’t feel like giving them money either
Randy, fix your Leupold decal already. For Bucks sake, it’s driving me crazy in these videos! 😂
You must be one of them.
They need to quit giving all that money to the ranchers that don't allow hunting. They get tons of money from the game and fish and through outfitting.
That's the most ignorant comment ever made.
