I know how to easily nerf frost wood
make it spawnrate very low, like, 3 trees maximum, respawning very slow, make it rare overall

it used to be arguably more beneficial to collect and sell lava wood as a starting player due to the sawmill glitch. it was fun because you could alternate between lava and frost wood. ever since the sawmill glitch has been patched, we've only been able to farm frost wood and it has sucked.
