Something I learned from the Swiss breastfeeding group I'm part of is when pumping put socks over the bottles so you aren't paying attention and stressing about how much milk is being collected. Once I did this my stress level was lower and I produced more milk.

My daughter will be 16-months-old when her little brother is due. 3 months to go! 🤩 We've already started trying to get her comfortable with the concept of a baby in the house, setting up the bassinet in our room and showing her some of his clothes and toys. Sometimes when I talk about baby brother in mummy's tummy she'll give my belly kisses which is the cutest! But most of the time any kind of baby, whether it's a doll or seeing other little babies at the shops, she screws her face up like a little grinch 😂
The LCs I worked with after having my daughter told me when you pump soon after nursing you shouldn’t get much at all bc baby is nearly emptying you. So getting .5 oz-1 oz on each side is just “extra” and totally normal!
Pumping was a nightmare for me because my milk supply was so low. I felt like a huge failure and I tried absolutely everything. I ended up pumping for a month until my milk supply completely depleted. It took a while to adjust but I learned so much in the process. We can’t be too hard on ourselves. Baby boy is 6 months and formula has sat so well with him. Fed is best!

Thanks so much for posting these videos. I'm currently pregnant with my first and am so nervous about the whole living with a baby deal! I really appreciate that you're being completely upfront about all the details of taking care of a newborn.
He's so cute! He gives me baby fever for sure. Especially that my only boy just turned 5! God bless you're beautiful family.
Also, my milk took about 5 days to actually come in. I didn’t get much at all until at least a couple weeks in of pumping. My baby is 3 weeks now and I pump after eat feeding because he doesn’t latch well and needs supplemented and I still only pump on average about 2 ounces per boob. Sometimes more and sometimes less. It also really depends on my water intake and time of the day and how long baby fed for before I pump as well. Just keep at it. My lactation specialist said pumping after each feeding will tell your boobs you need to produce more milk so more should come in as you pump and feed.

If the halo bassinet mattress lifts up, then you could roll a few swaddle blankets and stick under the top of the mattress for a little elevation. My son won’t sleep flat without waking up or spitting up, so we asked the pediatrician and she said while it isn’t “recommended” by the board of pediatric doctors, that she would say to do that and it has really helped. He went from waking up all the time to actually sleeping his few hour stretches at night in the bassinet. Also, if it has a vibration setting, my son loves that in his bassinet. We have a Fisher Price one, so I’m not sure what is on the halo.

Every time I watch one of your videos sense Jackson was born I can't get over how tiny and cute
I had the same struggle with my sleepy jaundice baby in the beginning too. It seemed impossible to keep her awake long enough to feed her. As much as we undressed her and messed with her she slept through everything! Sometimes we had luck with a cool water bottle against her skin. Good luck, you're doing great!

Really enjoying these new videos. Congrats on your 2 beauties! You mentioned that you didn't have much of a game plan for your first night at home with Jackson. How would you have approached this differently if you had the chance? Expecting a new arrival soon after a gap of 17 years and feel like I'm starting from scratch again!

Oh Kayla! What a crazy journey we‘ve been through. A positive pregnancy test, 3 months of sickness, always a toddler to chase after, a growing baby bump and so on. Your Baby Boy has already arrived, mine will be here by monday (C-section😞).
By the way, my son ALWAYS fell asleep after 30 seconds of breast feeding. Had to switch to bottle feeding which worked much better! He gained weight and momma was much more relaxed👍🏻

*tip* try and add 3-5 tablespoons black beans in your meals... milk will flow tons and tons, that's what we use here...
I would like to see a video about your recovery this time around. You said this delivery went a lot more smooth than with Riley’s. Is the recovery better this time around too? Also, how long do you have to wear the adult diapers? Do you think your recovery will be quicker since you didn’t get the episiotomy this time around?

Awwwww 😍I'm preggo with baby no2 in week 34 and my first son is 2 years old. The only thing I'm constantly thinking about is how my son is gonna deal with having a baby brother. Riley is so cute as a big sis 😍😍

I would advise caution when a dr. Over focuses on weight loss after birth. Babys loose mostly water weight after birth. If your having more than 5 wet diapers and a bm every other day then he is getting enough. I would also suggest to ask you doctor to weigh him before feeding and after. This will show that he is eating enough.
When you start out pumping you will only get small amounts because you body has to adjust to the pump. Thank you for giving encouragement to first time pumpers.

Congratulation on the birth of baby Jackson and being a mom of 2. I have a 1 year old son now. I have the Same bassinet and I would swaddle the baby in the halo sleep sack and he we would sleep in there. Also you can put the DockAtot inside the bassinet. It fits perfectly when they are that little

Mama, try the haakaa pump! Look it up on Amazon ☺️ I used to pump about that same amount with my Spectra & my hubby bought the haakaa randomly. During feedings with my daughter, I would get about 4-5 oz of milk!!

Also i haven't had the chance to watch the actual birth vlog yet, but if you had an epidural and iv that can add water weight to baby, so it looks like baby is losing a lot of weight when compared to the immediate post birth weigh in, when really their bodies are just getting rid of the excess water in their systems, just something to consider when looking at the weight loss❤️

Congratulations to your family! I am in the same situation as you. I have a 23 month your old daughter Lexi and a 6 week old baby boy. It’s so hard and I’m exhausted. My little guy lost 9 % of his body weight. I BF and would top up each feeding with formula. He’s now 10 pounds and went down to 6 pounds and 8 ounces once we left the hospital. your so right. You don’t realize how much your forget with your second but it all comes back. I promise lol.

The grass to dry the bottles and stuff. My sister-in-law didn't like it because it grew mildew. Has anyone else have this problem? She is in Miami and I'll be eventually moving to Ft. Myers (FL), so any information from FL people or people from a similar climate would be really helpful.

Awwwww I just give birth on December 17 he was born early at 37 weeks, he was almost 8 pounds but he still premature baby and he was in the ICU for 10 days, but now his home, and my milk was so crazy I even need to pumps and throw them because I have a lot milk, I'm glad your baby home and mine to🙏🙏🙏 happy holiday anyway love your video😘
Thank you for your comments on breastfeeding. I felt so defeated when trying to breastfeed my little one. It is such a hard thing to accept when you aren't able to especially as a first time mom.
Some babies get a lot of milk in a short span. Especially if he has a good latch.

Eat oatmeal and please pause anything with coffee for now even if you think you need it because of less sleep try more grainy foods try eating rice porridge, some maize, almonds ,cashew nuts more fruits and nuts really helps, peanut butter instead of butter just try it and see these will keep you active and wishing you had more breast pads. Love u guys.

My son was born a month and 1 day early at 5 pounds .06 ounces, 19 inches long. He’s too long for preemie sleepers so we put him in newborn sleepers which he is too skinny for (even though he’s up to 5pounds 9 ounces @2 weeks old) so we put a short sleeve onesie on because he has a problem holding in his heat, I’m not able to breastfeed because he can’t latch but I do pump and hope to one day be able to nurse
You’d be surprised at how fast a baby can nurse, my son would get 4oz in like 5 minutes. I did weighted feeds at a LC office and it was sooo informative!

Don't worry about eating more while you're breastfeeding. It's totally healthy to eat an extra 500 calories per day (as opposed to the extra 200 per day while pregnant).

Hi dear. If you have fenugreek then take 1 or 2 tbsp of fenugreek and add it to some boiling water and have it. Its really good for increasing ur breast milk.

When my daughter had her second baby her milk literally dried up after the 5th day and she never did get any more to come in. So your not alone.
Hi! Your babies are the cutest! 😍 I noticed that you said you switched breasts after 10min. I would try keep him in one breast until it’s completely empty. Breast milk changes consistency throughout a feeding. The first milk is known as the foremilk. This milk is low in fat and calories, but its consistency is satisfying to a hungry baby. As a feeding progresses, the milk turns into hindmilk. It tends to be thicker in texture and have a higher fat content, consequently more calories, which helps the baby gain weight. You may wanna talk to your lactation consultant about it. If he won’t stay awake, you can continue pumping like you have been doing and give him that foremilk later from the pump when is time for his next feeding. You’re doing amazing! ❤️
What’s the name of your baby’s swing ?
My son didn't feed very well from the breast and because he wasn't getting much from my breast he became weak and used to sleep a lot. I was told to blow on his face gently if he fell asleep to keep him feeding.

I know that people are going to have all their opinions and things to say but have you tried putting the dock a tot inside of the halo? It fits perfectly and he may like that since you said he likes the dock a tot.
For jaundice you can put him with his bare back facing a window that has some sunlight coming through. and for good up to date breastfeeding resources check out Dr. Jack Newman he's a renowned specialist and is very diligent in helping moms + responding to questions he gets! congrats on #2 :)
My baby boy was 6 pounds an 4 oz and the same the newborn clothes were too big on him
He's an infant. You have to awaken him once he has slept for two hours so that he is feeding enough to gain weight. But he's a few days old, he will wake up a bit more shortly and get into a real 2-3 hour cycle for you without wanting to go back to sleep right away. He will develop the eat-play-sleep pattern, you just have to figure out how to get more into him now without turning him into a snacker. He's in what is called the 4th trimester, so it's hard on them and he will sleep a lot regardless of greater periods of time being more wakeful. They feel insecure when they are naked generally because they are little animals and know they cannot protect themselves from anything, even though they cannot articulate that. They love feeling all snug and cozy because it feels like safety to them. That is very little milk for 5 minutes of pumping. You are so right. We have to feed our babies, so if you have to give him formula, so be it. Riley seems pretty happy to be at her grandparents' house. She needs to learn indoor voice so that she doesn't wake the baby when you want him sleeping down the road. There is outdoor space there for running and screaming. Thank you for sharing Jackson's adjustment to life.

You have so many things for the baby... what an expense! you don't need half of it! but if you want and are able to afford... good for you! :) however, it really is NOT needed half those things!
