Also make it kinda like a story mode thing where you have to explore the different AUs and recruit a team to battle Fate. To recruit you need to battle some charaters like Nightmare especially, then when they realise your cause they will join your team so, kinda like that Avengers game that you can get on the switch. (I only know it cause my brother plays it.)
I love how solemn Dusttale looks. It gives him the feel that he spends most of his time reflecting on his actions...on his own sins crawling down his back.

How each character would play:
Ink would play like a typical sword character would when played normally, but all his special moves would be ones of other characters, making him a "well rounded" character. There isn't really an ideal playstyle for ink, but he would play similar to most others.
Dream would have good mid and long ranged potential, but lacks the area control of other sans's, they deal more damage but can be blocked or avoided easier. Dream's best playstyle would be to try to counter attack instead of rushing head first, it's harder to dodge if you're still attacking.
PJ has good defence and offense but those options are very specific so a skilled player can work around it or bait it. Overall a glass cannon, but with a glass shield. The best strategy is to mix up your attacks so your opponent doesn't know what you're gonna do next.
Lust would specialize in stunning or messing up their opponent over everything else. Their attacks would be weak but are made to target paralyzed foes. You know they're ideal strategy already.
Swap sans is the player that removes all multihit moves and replaced them with huge attacks, they are difficult to avoid, but won't deal huge damage. Great for beginners because of his big attacks and simplistic moveset.
Fell is the type who has low defense but high offense, they will deal above average damage at the cost of a below average defense. Their attacks would be consistent and difficult but once you get through it is when the winner switches. The ideal playstyle is to try to play safer, even though it isn't your specialty if you take a decent hit you can lose the game.
Reaper is the definition of glass cannon, while PJ had good strengths in both, but easy to predict and Fell had somewhat high attack and somewhat low defense. Reaper has ridiculous damage potential, they'll have high attack power but low range, they're scythe is their main tool of destruction. They're defense is pitiful but getting close enough to deal a heavy blow is a difficult. Close distance to deal immense damage, that's the best playstyle since your opponent can most likely out range you.
(Can't tell which AU the one under reaper is...or the one under outer)
Outer is the camper, they're the only one capable of flying so they can outrage most others. They have below average defense and average attack, they're main advantage is the ability to summon attacks from the sky and to avoid most low level attacks. Outer is slow in the air however, meaning he can't flee using it. The best playstyle is to be just out of their attack range, far enough to be safe, but close enough for you to attack.
Fell Pap is the biggest damage dealer of the Papyrus's, but he does have a weakness, being a Papyrus his attacks can be avoided relatively easily if the opponent knows what's coming, the best playstyle for him is to close the distance between him and his opponent so they can't dodge often.
Classic Pap is very similar to swap sans, except Papyrus specializes in defensive attacks and keeping opponents at bay, like most Papyrus's his attacks are big but simple although a bad player can get stuck behind his wall of attacks. Papyrus has a decent defense and a low attack, but he can outlast most players if you use him right. The best playstyle is to keep people away, even though you can take a hit the further they are the better, your attacks might be slow but they are difficult to simply duck under.
Swap pap is the most unique of the Papyrus's because of his orange soul ability, he can force his opponents to constantly move (they can change direction) and use faster smaller attacks. He has the lowest stats of the Papyrus's but he is tricky to play against if you panic. The ideal strategy is to use your moves to mix up your targets, a confused enemy is easier to hit then a prepared one.

Geno (or After sans) is a odd player in itself, he has decent attack and good defense, but has low dodge potential. He is powerful, but his attacks appear to be sluggish, leaving him open when using them. A good game plan is to always make sure when you're attacking you aren't in danger if it fails.
Classic is very unique, he has the lowest stats of them all, yet is the fastest and best at dodging. He has decent area control and can quickly win the battle if you get distracted. You need good reflexes for this character.
Fresh is the wild card of the game, he feels like he's everywhere and is annoying to hit because of it. His stats are average but since speed is his game plan, he is weak in terms of direct power.
Epic is the joke character, having goofy and meme based attacks and not being intended to be played seriously. He is fairly well rounded in general however and has no real strengths or weakness like Ink.
Nightmare is a defensive character, because his tentacles can make great shields, his actual defense is average, but almost all damage is reduced if it's blocked. He has more melee potential than most but not enough to completely focus on it. Should be played by those not familiar with dodging, or those who simply don't want to dodge.
Cross is the ideal melee out of all, he focuses on traps placed by his attacks and his powerful blows by his sword/giant knife. He isn't too powerful in any scenario based on stats but he's one of the more tricky characters to deal with. The traps set by him are one at a time and can be easily spotted but sometimes difficult to avoid, and his good melee range makes him difficult to approach. But because of his moveset he has difficulty approaching most other characters. The preferred idea is to try your best to either approach them, or have them approach you.
Killer is one of the more unique ranged attackers, although his attacks are not as big in numbers they are stronger than most. He (like Nightmare) can do well in close combat but isn't designed specifically around it. He would do well trying to cut through defenses and dealing lots of damage.
Horror is a bully player having high attack and high defense, the cost is he has basically no way of dodging. His attacks do incredible damage but the damage is only good the closer he is to you. For those who want to end a game quickly.
Error is the best at area control, allowing him to attack in multiple spots. His attack aren't very powerful and some attacks can out power it, but reaching error is hard with multiple attacks. Error unlike most ranged fighters has average defense, so reaching him isn't a huge game changer. He does have difficulty fighting at close distance so the longer you're near him the better.
Dust is the best statistically and fights with a variety of attacks, his main gimmick is that at random times in the fight (and at will) he'll change to dust papyrus, who (dust still takes damage if hit) has the same stats as dust. Dust Papyrus has Slower and more focused attacks. Being forced to swap between them can mess up a combo, or help continue one depending on the timing. Playstyle for him is to try and avoid all danger while using dust papyrus and go on the offensive while using dust.

There's something similar, Bonetale
There's even multiplayer and a mobile version
For now you can play as Sans, Papyrus, Frisk and Undyne but they're gonna add new characters like Asriel soon, each characters has they're own abiities and levels
When you finish all the levels of a characters there are the "events" that are are placed in a specific AU, if you win the 3 levels of the AU levels you're gonna receive some stuff from that AU, for example, now there's only Underfell (they're gonna add Underswap soon), and if you beat these 3 levels with Sans you're gonna receive the Fell Sans skin, the Underfell corridor, and the Underfell Megalovania, while, if you beat these 3 levels with Papyrus, you're gonna receive the Fell Papyrus skin, the Underfell Snowdin and the Underfell Bonetrousle
