- This is the full entire complete TV movie of Castaways on Gilligan's Island. This made-for-TV movie came out in 1979. 12 days have passed since being re-shipwrecked on the exact same island. They have no fresh water because of the previous storm. But a hidden WWII plane gives the Castaways an opportunity to try for another rescue.

@MrParkerman6 Please do not leave me such a mean and hateful message, and then delete the message because you regretted sending it afterwards, or you did a little more research and realized the truth, which was that you were very much in the wrong, to completely out of nowhere, accuse me of being a dumb-ss, because you somehow knew that this movie was 90mins long instead of the length I have here. You obviously went to IMDB, which themselves are wrong. Why I do not know why? Because on every single website I could find, the length varied between 65mins and 75mins. And that is because this is a Made-For-TV movie. And these types movies were placed in 1hour 30min blocks to 2hour blocks, but their actual length would be either cut down to save time, or more commercials would be added to to fill in the time. In this movie’s case, whenever you add in the commercials, the movie would add up to 90mins. But the actual length of time is 65-75mins. It really hurt to read what you wrote to me about me posting this movie. And then to see that you wrote it to me, and then deleted it. I have Autism, and I do the very best I can. I apologize if I do not live up to your expectations. Why you felt the need to double check the time length of this movie, and not just take my posting as fact, I have no idea. Hey, 80's Child!! Forget about this "Parkerman" A-Hole, this was such a fun movie to revisit!! I notice their are some people in other videos' comment sections that are incapable of presenting civil criticisms even if they have a point - they are always nasty!! I never saw that comment - They bail 'coz they're cowards.
This comment section has pretty cool, appreciative people in it. I remember Gilligan 'Castaways' on T.V. and thought it was a pilot for a new G.I. Series, and also remember it as about an hour. (I don't know how people get the movies onto our CZcams, but I'm glad you do!!) Keep up the good work!! Ken.
@@kennethmartin1300 Thank you Kenneth. That is very nice of you to say, and I appreciate it very much. I am feeling much better now. I do my best to try to not let the very few negative comments get me down, because there are truly so many more really great and wonderful positive comments to take their places. But it is still difficult sometimes. I just never want viewers who come to the channel to ever think that I would take shortcuts or try to deceive them in some way. I knew this movie was the correct length, and that I had not left out any of it’s content. I, like you, remembered it possibly being used as a pilot for a new Gilligan’s Island TV show, that would sadly never come to pass. But regardless, it was considered a made-for-tv movie that fit into the 1hour 30min time slot, and with removing the commercials, the time remaining is what the time of the movie is for the movie I posted. MrParkerman simply saw on some website that the time for this movie was 1hr 30min, and instead of just asking a polite question in the comment section about it, he proceeded to use curse words towards me and lowerate me. I do the best I can do, with what I have, and the time given to me. I would have liked to have had a civil discussion with him about the movie and it’s time length. But that clearly wasn’t what he had in mind, so therefore he deleted his comment. I just felt the need to address him, if he ever sees this comment, and hopefully he will know how his words effected me, and how they were unfair and very cruel. And how we all should be trying more ways to work together, rather than finding ways to tear one another apart.
Also, on your mention of movie uploads to CZcams. I can not speak for anyone but myself, I only have a few completely whole movies uploaded. I have tried many, a whole lot, over the years, but they were all blocked due to copyright. However some, as you can see made it through. All I can say to it, is it seems to me sortof random luck. But also, it seems to be more of the older, lesser known movies. But even a lot of them I have tried and CZcams has blocked as well. I actually have 2 ABC Weekend Specials TV movies (entire complete) that came on in the early 80s, that I am about to upload within a few days (Mayday Mayday, and Cougar). Both I have done as much restoration and editing as I have been able to do, to make them look and sound as good as possible. It has taken some time to get it all done, but I hope it will be worth it for my viewers. I remember both Saturday movies very well. They played a lot, back in the 80s, after all the cartoons had ended for the day. There’s a lot more of the ABC Weekend Specials out there, I’ve already posted the Miss Bliss cartoon movie and sequel. I may try to work on others and upload them as well, later on.

I started watching this at 1:00 am in the morning, today is 9-17-2022. I am a 63-year-old male and with everything going to hell in a hand basket with our government, wish I was marooned on an island. Lord in heaven, where did the world I remember and grew up in go? I always felt that Tina Louise was okay, but Dawn Wells had a much deeper beauty. Especially in the episode with a young Curt Russell "jungle boy". When Marianne "Dawn Wells" knelt down, opened her arms and spoke softly to the boy my heart was set on her from that moment forward! I wanted nothing more then to melt in those welcoming arms.

They did a documentary type movie about it with characters resembling the original cast and it was great.

Of all of the three reunion movies, for whatever reason, this one is the toughest to find.
I remember when this first aired. The ratings were huge, almost Superbowl level. Everyone I knew watched this. Back when there were 13 channels, and a few UHF stations which never came in clear.
I don't believe ther was any city you could go to wher all 12 VHF channels had programming. There was a few or a lot of them with nothing but snow.

Turned 52 July 4th......fond memories of mid 1970s ....we would get up early on Summer days play awhile and get into the backyard pool....we would swim our asses off until around 3 pm when The Monkees,Gilligan's Island,Brady Bunch,Flintstones would come on TV. We would sit there until almost dinner time watching our favorite shows. Now.....our childhood home is gone....my mom and dad are in a nursing home far away...and my siblings barely talk to me. I am barely keeping my head above water with the Covid 19 downturn and now and again I think back to those carefree days of youth. I wish you all peace and safety and god bless.

Man that stinks. I have similar fond memories. I’m watching a few giligans island episodes and am enjoying the memories of those times. The future here sort of sucks. Things were a lot simpler then. Now, Mary Ann has died of Covid.
Quit a good job I’d been at for nine years and moved in with my parents to take care of my dad. Then my brother in law took his own life in June. My dad’s Dementia journey ended 23 days later. Now I have no job prospects bc of Covid and had to start my own business to survive. Everything is so uncertain. I want my dad and brother in law back, along with a generally simpler time.
The shows detachment from physics, land size, awareness for filming scenes, resources, etc is pure gold. They landed on a huge island! Great stuff!

I have a small issue with the way Ginger is portrayed in the series but that is how it was during that time. But it's degradation to women in general. It portrays that women are only good for their sexuality or kitchen skills. However, it's not towards the person who posted this. It's the people who made this series. It's sad though cause the show is so great!!!❤❤With the exception of Ginger character.

There's a third movie, as well: The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island. In it, the Globetrotters help the castaways save the resort from a hostile takeover by a big developer. Jim Backus was extremely ill and appears in only one scene. It was his last filmwork.

I thought that I had seen all of the Gilligan's island tv shows and movies , but this is a first for this movie ! This was a pleasant surprise .
I loved this show and the movies. I watched every episode of the show so many times over the yrs. Timeless classics. Brings back so many childhood memories. I remember in the early 80’s it use to be on Mon-Fri at 5pm in my area. Watching with my dad.
I wish the series had gone on longer than just 3seasons.
But I read that Bonanza was picked up for renewal instead of Gillian’s Island.

As I recall, when it first aired, it was supposed to be Gilligans Island meets Fantasy Island meets The Love Boat. However, due to low ratings, the intended series was canceled
I just watched the "Rescue" movie and now found this little gem...brilliant! Wish there were more, but thankful to have stumbled on this second movie. Thank you, thank you thank you! Wonderful cast, wonderful series, wonderful movies How I miss good clean fun from days gone by. Creator Sherwood Schwartz was a brilliant writer and Bob Denver is a brilliant comic! They are all a great team!
There actually was a third Gilligan movie, “The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan’s Island”.
They were all mistreated and under paid by the network executives , Bob Denver would stand them down and put his job on the line to protect the rest of them ..

Man this is weird seeing this in color I remember my little 13 inch black and white coming home from school running to my bedroom putting on my play clothes cause back in the day We wore play clothes and we had school clothes and we had church clothes but anyway great to see this been a long time rest in peace to all the characters that have left us. I remember watching this back in 1979 when it first aired. Sherwood Swhartz wanted to a Love Boat or Fantasy Island type series, but then realized that some of the cast members were up there in age, so they decided on doing TV Movies instead :) This is a very nice copy. I have one too :)

I own all the shows and their other movie on DVD, but somehow I didn't even know about this one! My family is going through some rough times now, so this was a cheerful escape for me. This never existed in my former reality! The movie "Rescue From Gilligan's Island" was the last one in my reality. If I remember that one I sure couldn't have missed this. I am 1000% positive. CZcams always had "Rescue From Gilligan's Island" for years and today, this shows up. It's not bad either. I loved this show when I was little and even wore a sailor's hat all the time also. I definitely would have remembered this! The one someone was mentioning about the Harlem Globetrotters also never existed, but they exist now because we have once again changed realities. CERN resumed operations again earlier this month, and other things have changed also!

It's easy to assume something you missed is a Mandela Effect but there is no way to know. So.etimes we miss things.
There is no way we all knew about every TV movie that was made. If you had a memory of looking for any other Gilligan's Island follow ups, and I. Your search you found a number of sites which said there was only one made, then that would likely indicate you had switched timelines. But to assume you jumped just because you weren't aware, in my opinion, is not very strong.
There is a really good Mandela Effect YT, Recall Vector, but there is one thing about him that I am not on board with it's the fact that pretty much everything he discovers that he did t have a memory of, he assumes it's a Mandela Effect. So if he learns a ne word that has a history of being around a long time, he auto.atically categorizes it as a Mandela Effect.
Now there is no way anyone can say something not a Mandela Effect, just like this tv movie and the Globetrotters one. I can say for certain that you used to be in universes where these two telefilms were never made, I just don't pay much attention to this kind of claim, because each if us live through times wher things that exist just never made it to our experience.
I guess my biggest issue with everyone claiming everything is a Mandela Effect based seky on the fact they were not aware of it at the time, is it kind of cheapens the phenomenon.
Skeptics find it easy to write off. Luke learning a word that is new to you does not mean that the word never exist d I. The united you were in. The truth is that in unabridged dictionaries, there are more words we don't know than we do know. And I find it illogical to believe that every word in an u abridged dictionary is a Mandela Effect. It is more logical to r alized most of us have a limited vocabulary.
Anyway,, I don't remember this tv movie either but never in a million years would I cite it as a Mandela effect. That just makes skeptics not believe us in general. I do remember seeing ads for the Globetrotters one, but I was not motivated to change atch it as it seemed too silly to have them and G.I. mashed up on some la.ebrain TV network executive decision.
CERN is by no means the r ason for most Mandela effects. Most, I believe, are natural, a part of being human. God created the multiverse, not CERN.
God made us multi di.ensional beings, not CERN.
Also, it's my understanding CERN and other hadron collider are under good guy control at this point.

Considering the way Tina Louise felt about the rest of the cast and the show, it is no surprise that she didn’t come back for this movie.
Tina Louise wasn't mad at the cast, she was mad at Sherwood Schwartz, who was the creator of the show. Schwartz made millions in syndication while the cast members didn't receive any residuals from the show.
She said it ruined her career.

One of my favorite escapes as a kid, as it was one of the first movies we ever taped on our first VCR.
And it is only now, over 40 years later, that I realize how badly Gilligan machine-gunned the plot. Has nobody else ever noticed: They never did find any fresh water on the island? The Howells just go full speed ahead with the resort anyway?!

You can tell that they were pitching this to go on as a series, much like Fantasy Island. And it would have probably done okay with a rotating group of guest stars each week.
They have the best of both worlds: Staying on the island while still being able to be among other citizens.

Back in my day, Gilligan's Island was on 5 days a week. Then in comes M-TV, Voltron, Power Rangers, and Thundercats.
Just think: after spending fifteen years on the island, prior to the events of Rescue from Gilligan's Island, after getting rescued here, Mr. Howell builds a resort on the island, and EVERYONE comes back to work in it. Seems like the island would be the LAST place on earth any of the characters would want to be. The Howells were in their 70s. Ginger could have gone back to Hollywood. The Skipper and Gilligan could have finally parted ways. Maryanne would probably do a cooking TV show. The professor would go back to teaching and research. At the very least, they would ALL become international celebrities due to their long time marooned on an island. There would be books, talk shows, probably a movie made about them.

@@jonasgrumby3378 Just a lifelong Gilligan's Island fan. The Love Boat "theme" was so unnecessary with three different couples/families visiting the island each week and having problems that the castaways would help solve.

This was all answered in the first movie. Skipper and Gilligan were friends who didn't want to part ways. Maryanne was getting stuck into a marriage she didn't want. The Howells realized their friends were stuffy jerks. Ginger hated what Hollywood was becoming. The professor couldn't deal with his celebrity status. They all realized they had grown accustomed to a peaceful life on the island.
