  • In this video, Charles give a tour of the 2015 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X model. This particular model features two toned all terrain wheels, built in roof wrack and flood lights. The integrated floodlights come with caps to keep them cover when not in use. Charles gives some ideas on different things you can use the integrated wrack for.
    You'll notice that this model has no step bars for getting in and out. This is so that you'll have more ground clearance. This Xterra has 11.5 inches of clearance from the ground to the frame rails. This vehicle is one of the last traditional SUVs that is body on frame designed.
    The 4 Liter V6 in this off road SUV gives it a lot of get up and go. And, you can feel it when you hit the gas peddle. For you off roading fanatics, this Xterra features a full locking rear differential.
    Comfort and convenience features include heated seats, a 6.5 inch color monitor and navigation just to name a few.

    RIP to the Xterra, IMO the best car ever made. Reliable, capable, practical and good looking to boot. Also lets not forget you could get it with a manual, a real rarity among modern cars and trucks. I love my '04 and will keep it until the end of time.

    Have a 2012 Pro-4X with 6-Speed, 67k miles, 2 round trips cross-USA NE to Calif. Many trips NE to FL. In snow, proper tires are critical. These trucks are an acquired taste, last of the true SUV, more reliable than Jeep or Rover, be careful of abrupt avoidance maneuvers at speed, the initial swerve will give you religion, but the recovery could put you in it’s side. Offroad capability is terrific with the correct tires.

    i purchased a 2014 Xterra Pro-4X new and still have it. unfortunately, it became my wife's vehicle and i rarely get to drive it. she has put 92k miles on it and we have never had a single problem. however, i recognized that this truck was a last of a "dying breed" of REAL truck-style SUV's so i have had all scheduled maintenance done to the truck "by the dealer." my wife likes to ski and she drives this to 7 Springs ski resort near Pittsburgh, Pa. the leather, heated seats are a real pleasure when it's cold outside. the truck goes great in the snow with just the 4x4 switched on but if i "lock-in" the rear diff, it has never gotten stuck in any amount of snow. My Xterra is just a pleasure to drive especially on long trips. the truck rides nice and feels very stable in all driving conditions. it is a shame that no one makes a truck SUV like the Xterra any longer. the truck gets around 20 mpg and has all the pep and acceleration that you would ever need - AND it has LOTS of room inside with the back seats folded down. we have never turned on the front roof lights and the dealer told us not to turn them on with the light covers as they are so bright they will melt the plastic covers. ironically, i never knew about the roof rack "trap door" that i just saw in this video for the first time! the last cool thing i will say about the Xterra Pro-4X is that it has a First Aid Kit built into the rear tailgate door. that is just one of the interesting things about these trucks. maybe someday Nissan or someone will build another Xterra Pro-4X "body on frame" REAL SUV. i sure hope so because if it is good as the Xterra i have, i would buy it in a heart-beat.

    And they're supposedly discontinuing them. What a fucking TERRIBLE idea Nissan. Fucking TERRIBLE idea. This is one vehicle EVERYONE can enjoy. Yea, it gets shitty mpg but those of us who love it for what it is and for off roading, we don't give a shit. And DO NOT fuck with the model. Yea, we get it. You've used the same model since the first one was made, THAT'S why we get it. Because it's just an amazing vehicle and it LOOKS SEXY. You better not be fucking discontinuing it.

If they are making enough money they would keep making them. Look at the sales numbers..they are getting worse every year. I am not saying it is a bad truck, but this is business 101.

    • @ericclift1773
      @ericclift1773 Před 2 lety

      @@ehrendennis3808 It gets more than that, when gas is cheap it’s like a Honda, great gas mileage. When gas is expensive it can take a bit to fill. I spend about $60 to fill it every week now that gas is $4.50 here in California. I find the 2006 gets better mileage at the top of the tank than at the bottom and the 2015 is the opposite. They both do well on the highway mileage, about the same. I’ve taken many trips up north into Oregon and my gas points to fill up are the same. I find very little difference in the two years. My 2015 is a manual and if you don’t know how to use it properly seems to bog down more in situations that the 2006 automatic has know problem with. Both work well in the sand but I would probably recommend the automatic as you don’t have to down shift and it allows you to keep your momentum going through sand.

    Cordial greeting, I am a happy, owner of a Nissan Xterra 2012, diesel engine 2.5 Turbo compressor, intercooler, Transmission, mechanical, five-speed forward more reverse, by far has been the best all-terrain of the brand Nissan I've had for many years, extremely robust, reliable, with one of the lowest maintenance costs for a pickup truck, its diesel consumption of only 48 kilometers per gallon in the city, and the high-mountain road, 55 to 58 kilometers per gallon , I'VE HAD OTHERS. BRANDS LIKE TOYOTA, JEEP, CHEVROLET, FORD AND REALLY DON'T HAVE THE NISSAN XTERRA, NOTHING TO ENVY, QUITE THE OPPOSITE, THEIR MANUFACTURE ARE THE BEST AND LOW MAINTENANCE.

    I scored that very truck (but with leather sets, NICE seats, too) back in July with only 47,000 miles on it. It's a 2015 Pro-4x, same color, and I love it. I have been a Ford and Chevy guy for 20+ years, but this truck just stood out from anything else and was the right price. For $25,000 I got this beautiful and highly functioning truck, while Chevy wanted $45,000 + for even a used Tahoe. Ridiculous. Nissan won and I plan to have this thing for many, many years. I do video production and it's awesome for all my equipment, plus the ability to go into remote areas, like we often do. And it's of course perfect for my bikes, kayaks, beach lifestyle. I agree. I wish they still made them, but at least I feel like I found a unicorn.

      They arnt too hard. 2 universal joints and 2 extensions the hard to reach plugs eaiser to get.

      @jonrubio2993 Před 7 lety

      Eddy Ponce so you have to replace them once in your tenure with the vehicle, maybe twice if you're hardcore. If you're half decent enough to properly remove and replace spark plugs, then it should be a cinch to use an extension or two with a u-joint to do the work at the recommended 105,000 mile mark.

    I've got a 2012 which I love but what pissed me off, was a year later, they came out with heated seats, back up camera and nav system which I don't care about all too much but fack, really! This is why Nissan has lost sales, cause they do crap like that in their whole line up. Oh yah and added a temp gauge, yah my 06 tacoma had that. But i still love it.

      So you're saying that Nissan's mistake was to upgrade the car for a newer year model?

    • @chadsteele1
      @chadsteele1 Před 9 lety

      I don't understand your question? Upgrade what car for what model? I was saying that the added features 2013 onward less the nav system are things my 04 and 06 tacoma already had and this truck is 6 and 8 yrs newer respectively and has less stuff on it.

    • @AmyProctor
      @AmyProctor Před 9 lety +1

      +C Steele Exactly about the outside temp gage. I can't understand why Xterra doesn't have it. It's important for people who use this kind of vehicle. Mine doesn't even have a digital compass in the mirror which was also shocking, but I can get one installed for $260.

    • @chadsteele1
      @chadsteele1 Před 9 lety +1

      the 2011 I looked at Amy Proctor didn't have one, then found a 2012 and it did. Now Nissan is cutting this line. Shame really. It's a great SUV

    • @AmyProctor
      @AmyProctor Před 9 lety

      +C Steele I just realized today that my 2015 Xterra doesn't have rear speakers. What!!! Only 2 front speakers?? That's just bizarre. Hopefully I can have rear speakers installed. All the stuff I have to do to get this up to a normal level is going to hurt.
      Anyway, I think Nissan is probably discontinuing to make something better. There's no way they would do without a hard core off-road vehicle when it's a good seller. They haven't changed the look much in the past decade so they probably want to update it. That's my theory, anyway.
