I really wish people would stop that non sense & realize this is a big part of why women who were told that in response to crying about having their hair pulled, being hit in the face, pushed off things & hurt & left bleeding are staying in abusive relationships because of the same logic. However those same parents, teachers & adults in general are suddenly so confused as to why women stay with men who mistreat them....😒 if you teach a child this you're setting them up to stay in painful & abusive situations & you should be an accessory to that crime & kept away from kids in general.
I don't think telling them that is wrong, mainly because there's truth to it. But you can't just leave it hanging with that, you gotta go a little deeper and talk about appropriate responses and flipping the tables back on them so they learn.
