Brian looks in great shape after all them years of heavy heavy training I mean even his rotator cuff was in perfect condition, he’s got great genetics, I only squatted 140kg and spat a disc out my neck from the weight of the bar sat on me

      I saw a guy like Brian Shaw at a Walmart in western Ohio ... A reg guy about 6ft9 or 6ft10 I'd say and roughly 400lbs very lean and never lifted weights or did sports ..... Crazy size ....

      Glad he was able to win his last show, but nothing speedy about a pec tear. Take it too fast and it's a re-tear and it's always worse the second time.

      That's around the same time I tore my left pec. Hurt like hell. Had 385 on the bar and still managed to press it, but paid a hefty price.

      @@austinohlrich9370 yup. I could feel the individual fibers ripping as I lowered the weight. I just calmly put the weights back and then I dropped to my knees once I got to the changeroom and felt like throwing up.

    Training hard after 40 is risky. I was injury free for the first 39 years of my life then I tore my pec at 40 and my bicep at 41. Watch yourselves gentleman. Train hard but train smart too. Speedy recovery to you Mr. Shaw.

      even at 36 it becomes an issue. I tripped last year, broke 1 ankle, ripped tendons in the other, in my younger years I would have healed up in a couple weeks, its going on a year now and its still not fully healed.

      @@ivenstorm No, the exact age is only relevant to the person, 36 means nothing, some men have made it to 46 with LESS issues and working every bit as hard, some are destroyed by their 30s and that doesn’t necessarily mean they didn’t take care of themselves as well. It depends entirely on the person

      Difference is Thor's was being irresponsible with his weight gain and pushing the limit on training. Brian's was in competition at his last competition.

      ​@@pascal9814Because your muscles get stronger way faster than your other tissues. Thor rapidly increased his bench and didn't listen to his coach. Brian has been lifting heavy consistently for decades and the bench wasn't much of a jump for him, while Thor hadn't been training static strength very consistently for years after losing a huge amount of weight and taking time off for boxing.

    Tore your pec and still one the standing chest press then went on to do the fingal's fingers right after. To be the best strongman, you definitely need to be strong physically and mentally. You can't let a torn muscle slow you down. Just ignore the pain and keep going.

    Just stay healthy dude, you're already the king to us. You don't need to prove anything. Honestly watching your videos helped me find the missing piece in my training that I couldn't figure out for the longest time...Wishing you a get well soon.     I’m 28 5’10 170lbs.. I’ve had something wrong with my left pec and shoulder cuff for years.. it’s gotten bad that I get panic attacks since it’s over my heart with the pain.. checked heart & it’s not an issue 🙏 so next I’ll be going to get an ultra sound to see what’s up w my muscles. This makes me feel more comfortable to this procedure. Speedy recovery Shaw 💪

      Hafthor tore his at a powerlifting meet several months back and had to have the tendon reattached. Opposite arm. I don't think they like competing for the biggest popped booby contest as much as they did the Arnold and WSM.

    Brian created the newest flex......thigh cuff for bicep blood pressure measurement. Setting records all the time.

      That's used on people who are obese as well. Smaller cuffs on larger people can read the blood pressure as high!

    Brian too humble. They ask if this happened in a competition and he just says yes, didn't even mention that he won both the event in question and the whole thing. Anyone else would've been bragging about benching 720 for reps

    Thank you B for letting us see the whole thing! PRP - platelet rich plasma (what you got but often not that many vials) is def available all over for "normal people" I've had PRP in my ankle and am getting soon in my shoulder. I def recommend it for anything a doctor will give it to you for (often tendons as they don't get good blood supply) and recommend to insurance companies they cover it to help postpone or avoid surgeries or longer term issues. Spend money and time now so you can spend less in the future.
