- In this interview I have the opportunity to chat with Prof. Asad Ahmed of the University of California, Berkeley. Asad Q. Ahmed is the Magistretti Distinguished Professor of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures and Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies in the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures and Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his B.A. in 2000 from Yale University, majoring from the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Literature. He was awarded a Ph.D. in 2007 from the Department of Near Eastern Studies, Princeton University.
We discuss Islamic philosophy generally speaking as well as the role of the philosopher in Islamic tradition and theology. This is a very interesting discussion so I encourage you to watch to the end!

Friends, there is no doubt that if Islamic eschatology (prophecy) is fulfilled, the ANTICHRIST and FALSE PROPHET of Bible prophecy will be the Mahdi and Prophet Isa of Islam!
According to the Law of First Mention, the Bible has credibility for being the first to define and outline the activities of the Antichrist than the Islamic hadiths (which surface 200 years after Muhammed and about 800 years after the Gospels) and their end times prophecy (eschatology).
In Bible prophecy, the Antichrist is not the one-eyed Al-Maseeh Al-Dajjal of Islam who has the word ‘kafir’ written on his forehead. Al-Maseeh Al-Dajjal is a fictional character invented by Islamic sources to deceive beloved Muslims from the knowledge of the two figures who will deceive the world in the end of the age:

What is the definition of Antichrist?
The term Antichrist means to be against or in place of Christ.
“and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” (1 John 4:3).
"Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is ANTICHRIST who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also." [1John 2:22-23]
Strangely, the Quran denies that Jesus is God come in the flesh (the Son of God). This instantly makes Islam an Antichrist religion. The title 'Son of God' does not mean-as the Qur'an criminally uses the title-that Jesus is the product of a sexual affair between God and a partner! No single Christian ever believed this disgusting assumption about the Father and the Son by Allah of the Qur’an. It's amazing how the Qur'an is totally ignorant of the true meaning of this title. The title Son of God simply means that the Word (who is spirit, eternal and God by nature) became flesh (John 1 :1, 14). The Son is the union of divine nature and human nature.
QS 6:101: ‘He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have a son when He has had no mate? And He has created everything and He has full knowledge of all things.’
About 800 years before the hadiths on Islamic end times prophecy (eschatology) were revealed, Bible prophecy was the first to reveal that in the end of the age SATAN (disguised as the true God of Israel) would give power to TWO FIGURES to deceive the world into believing that they have come to bring “peace” (Revelation 6:1-11 and Revelation 13:1-18). Power will be given to these two figures to make war with the Saints and to overcome them. The saints are those who believe in the gospel/message of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
These two figures are:
1. 1st Beast/the 'ANTICHRIST'
2. 2nd Beast/the FALSE PROPHET.
[NOTE: in Bible terms, a beast is a personality who has rule over the world]
1. 1st Beast/the 'ANTICHRIST'
The Antichrist is world Ruler/He is Gog from the land (Kingdom) of Magog (Ezekiel 38-39).
This must not be confused with Yajuj and Majuj (Qur'an 18:94-101 and Sahih al-Bukhari 7135) of Islam (two subhuman tribes trapped behind a wall) which is an obvious corruption by the hadiths almost 1500 later of the Gog from the land of Magog prophecy from Ezekiel. Even Islamic Scholars like Yasir Qadhi reject Yajuj and Majuj of the hadiths and Quran as pure fiction.
The Antichrist is the King of the final satanic kingdom. He will be given authority by Satan, disguised as YAHWEH the Most High, Creator and true God of Israel. Satan will give the Antichrist power to wage war with the Christians and to overcome them (Revelation 13:7) then each of them (Christian martyrs) was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been (Revelation 6:11). The Antichrist is given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation (Revelation 13:7).
The Antichrist will come with the promise of peace and justice and will think to change TIMES and LAWS. He will rule for 7 years.
Everyone will be required to “worship” (in Greek, the kind of “worship” used in relation to the Antichrist is ‘proskuneo’ which means to pledge allegiance, servitude or to show reverence).
The Antichrist/Gog will invade Jerusalem and fight the Jews.
2. 2nd Beast/the 'FALSE PROPHET'
The False Prophet is ‘Like a lamb’ (an imitation of Jesus/false Jesus). He will perform miracles and kill those, especially the Christians who believe in the testimony of Jesus Christ the crucified son of God and who do not worship the ANTICHRIST (in Greek the kind of “worship” used in relation to the Antichrist is ‘proskuneo’ which means to pledge allegiance, servitude or to show reverence). The False Prophet will submit to and help the mission of the Antichrist.
Coincidentally, Islam is looking forward to its TWO END TIMES FIGURES to bring ‘peace and justice’. Strangely, however, these Islamic figures are surprisingly similar to the ones already prophesied in the Bible as the ANTICHRIST and the FALSE PROPHET!
These TWO FIGURES of Islam are:
1. THE MAHDI and
2. PROPHET ISA. 4:07

Perhaps the greatest religious scholar and philosopher in the Middle Ages is Ibn Taymiyyah, who criticized the logic of Socrates and the great Greek philosophers, and criticized eilm alkalam, who was influenced by Greek philosophy.
Ibn Taymiyyah was a very confused man and a great bigot which makes him a favourite of Wahabis & Salafis! His anthropomorphic conception of God is a true portrait of his intellect!
No layman muslim is anthropomorphic, let alone a scholar!
Attributes of God have three views, two extremes and one moderate:
"anthropomorphic: Modern Ash'ari claim against Modern Salafi!". "Inoperative: Modern Salafi claim against Modern Ash'ari!". "Confermative without likeness: All NON labelled muslims and Scholars believe".
NON of the two extremists understood the philosophical concept behind the attributes of God: How can you be aware of the known attributes related to the UNknown creator?!
