      Absolutely not. The Rolex Certified Preowned section in Bucherer Paris has a couple of €14500 6 digit Subs, which is outright crazy, and they are not collecting dust.

    💯 - a lot of wait and see here in the US - election, possible money printing, inflation. One interesting thing. Due to the bad economy and decrease in the value of the yen, Rolex prices are falling in Japan. Last week there were THREE Platinum Daytonas in the $80s!

    I cant sell anything unless its at a DEEP haircut. How can I buy a new watch if I cant sell an old one? Im not gonna lose thousands THEN pay over retail. This market is in the water right now. Sellers need to wake up and stop asking crazy prices. Bring prices back down and the flow will start back up again. Until then sit on all the inventory you want, nobody wants it.

    • @WestCoastAce27
      @WestCoastAce27 Před měsícem

      I agree with everything you said. But you have to realize how many wealthy people there are in the world and how many are in our watch world. Thus many can sit on watches. But as the economy gets worse prices may come down.

      I wish you well but the only Rolex with a GMT that you can occasionally get not to far over retail is the Explorer II. And there are a lot of those listed at joke prices. That new GMT is going to longtime customers and out the back door to greys. Probably for at least a year. Unless the economy totally craters.

    Dealers are currently in the denial phase. Namely, they’re holding the inventory bag and chat amongst themselves about salvation emerging from quirky events like possible interest rate reductions (ain’t happening), Christmas/easter/passover (any supposed excuse). Like any market an external catalyst is required and MUST be aligned to hype. All the stars aligned for grey watch dealers from mid 2020 until March 2022 but the series of events that caused the trend were atypical and unlikely to repeat in our lifetimes. Is the market dead? No it isn’t. Will many so called watch dealers find a new way of making money? Probably.

      BNLR is already half of the peak and dropping every week. The Japanese yen is especially killing the rolex market.
      In six month you'll be able to buy a daytona in Japan for $15k. Currently they're $18k. Used to be $30k.
