But when our heart belongs to the Lord, the rest of our life falls into right order around that center. Our readings this week raise a crucial question: To whom-or to what-does your heart belong?

Even after realizing that only by giving our hearts to God we can be truly fulfilled, we're still being dragged constantly away by the lures of this world and the occasional frustrations of life. Thank you for the consistent and regular spiritual reminders Bishop, that only by putting God first and foremost we are truly alive.

Needed this today. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Bishop Barron.It’s indeed true, our hearts dry up if we place our hearts and trust in men. I don’t want to be stuck in the desert.
This sermon couldnt come at a better time. I have committed a sin which i know very well stem from my overt love and adoration toward my boyfriend. This sermon is a very strong reminder in a time when i feel the most unfit to stand in front of The Lord. Even praying these days make me cringe. It is really hard to connect with Him when my heart is divided and untrue. I am trying to pray and hope for strenght and salvation.
Pray! Pray from the heart! Trust in Him! And don't worry!! He loves you in a way incomprehensible to all of us!! Place your open heart before Christ on the Cross. Once you do, allow his mercy to penetrate your whole being. Be patient with him as he is with you!! I'll pray for you!! ❤✝️
Go to reconciliation and be restored to the state of grace. Remember that love at its root is to will the good for the other. True love seeks to keep the beloved far away from sin and idolatry.
Tell God the truth about what it is your heart. Repent and never feel disconnected from God because He always listen to you and will cleanse you
It's not a sin to love you're boyfriend as long as it's grounded in the love of God first and formost
@@annedouglas5308 I don't want to assume or read between lines. But some people dudes and gals. At times feel so in love that they made things they know they shouldn't. Things in many cases are contrary to the word of God all because of this love to the other person.

The fix shifts my heart from seeking the experience of the seven-course meal always available at the Father’s House to repeated short-term cravings for some form or other of spiritual junk food. I have heard a lot of homilies on the Beatitudes, but no one had ever pointed it out as to my personal choices and consequences of them. Our hearts and first choice should be God.

This must be my all-time favorite Bishop Barron sermon. Just what my heart needed. I will keep coming back to this. I want to give my heart to God, it’s so difficult but I want it. 🙏🏼 I’ll try to be conscious of where my heart belongs for the whole 2022. God bless everyone going thru the same.

Right before the Covid lockdowns began in 2020, the passage from Jeremiah was the scripture passage a contemplative Christian practice I follow reflected on. As I watched all things human collapse over the ensuing year, that passage resonated with me and sustained me.

8:13, WOW! There are no words to describe the beauty of the imagery created in what is said at 8:13 of this video. When Jesus “raises His eyes” all see Love of a magnitude not seen here on this earth. It just doesn’t exist here. But we are blessed with eyes of the heart and we can see Him using our imaginations.
