Apparently Brian decided to record a 'solo' EP, but wanted it to still have a band look/feel to it. He called in a friend of his from Lanemeyer to play drums, while another friend of his, Mike Hemberger, played bass, sang backups and produced the EP, which was to be called The American Music EP, though it appears to have been called You Grab Your Jacket. Brian's old guitar teacher, Tim Fogerty, played guitar on two tracks, incl. a solo, and Brian's mother sang backups. Brian did everything else. He got some good feedback on the EP and then formed a band after the fact. They only played together for a little while, and the people who played live didn't play on the EP.
This is why I love the internet.
😊😊😊😊
I hope some day, my kids in the year 2040, will blast these songs and reflect on the band that defined their dad's life.
We need to start a petition for Brian to bring back some of these songs on a solo album so everyone can enjoy it.
Oh yeah we should!
100%
YESSSSS.
Brian's songs are my obsession. I can listen to his music over and over and over and never get bored. Every project, every song is great. Keep them coming Brian😄!!!
Snap!
Wow! I love Brian Fallon but I've never heard these songs before. I happened upon them by accident and I'm so glad the CZcams Gods were with me because these are smashing!
As a person who tries to write songs, it pisses me off that even his earliest, most obscure stuff, stuff pulled off his myspace, is still so good. Like some of it is...proto-Brian Fallon, but it's all still good lol
Thank you SO much for this.
I've been looking every where for it.
I got this on a cdr with a computer printed label when I saw him solo live at a local bar. I bought 2 copies, keeping one sealed. Seeing him live you could tell he had something. His guitar teacher accompanied Brian on a few songs live. He also was just a really chill dude.
Do you remember what year this was?
My favorite artist I've seen live and I've seen a lot, from Rise Against and A Day to Remember to Brad Paisley and AlunaGeorge.
Only just found this! Its Brilliant!
Is it just me, or does scene of the crime feel like it could be a sequel for alkaline trio's private eye?
RJHari I believe so
Fallon included the same verse in This Charming Man “Sweet Delta Blues”…not sure which came first, but it could either be the sequel or prequel.
Much love and respect
And who would give this a thumbs down?
I need the download to throw in my work from home mix
