The good old days where if you were low on health, hiding in a corner waiting for your health to regenerate wasn't an option. Better find that health pack!
BK Films Absolutely right..And finding health pack for regain health makes game really difficult than hiding behind cover to regain health automatically..

this was the most amazing game, I swear when it first came out I couldn't believe the graphics and how fluid everything was. I've never played a game like this, medal of honor and stuff like that seemed far behind compared to this

the thing about it is that I watched now a lot of old fps and other genre games and I can see the difference.
It's actually the detail. They used to put a lot more detail to every fucking thing. The graphics were normal at the time but the detail of the UI the animation the movement the information is wayyy higher than it is now.
It was definitely the first game that completely wowed me. That section at the start when the paratroopers arrive, air raid sirens start yelling and the AA-guns start blasting. Nothing since then has given that feeling of awe.

I like how in Call of Duty 1,your fellow soldiers during training teach everything there is to know like it's a mouse and keyboard tutorial.Instead of saying something like "more accuracy when you aim down your sights"they say "the accuracy is based on the tightness of your crosshairs" like they too have crosshairs taped in the front of their faces.

omg the best game ever, so nostalgic. Even after so many years, I remember everything! This game needs new graphics and better AI for enemy soldiers, but all the rest needs to be left just as it was! This game was a masterpiece, I loved it!
Man so much of this feels superior to what we have now. Listen to the sounds the guns make and the way they recoil. When you're in a major fire fight it really feels like your there. Now it seems less realistic and gritty somehow.
movie guy99 I can understand the gun sounds but the recoil seems non existent. Or at least, it just doesn’t hinder you in any way

The amount of swear words in games these days have gone up so much. This was one of the first video games I played, as a kid, I think my parents were comfortable with it too as it had no swear words
Used to play this all the time, clan matches, was great, Back when games didnt move at 1000mph and didnt have stupid attachments, just you and your gun and best player or team wins

Da _absolute_ fuq you talking about? Games moved *much faster* prior to this; most shooters were arena shooters like the Unreal and Quake franchise, and most other franchises emulated them. It was the rare game that was an RPG shooter or realistic shooter.

Its cool seeing a COD game that isn't so linear with its gameplay
Now in COD WW2 they got the scoped Springfield reload animation completely wrong, instead of reloading bullet by bullet like they correctly have it in this game. In COD WW2 the character reloads using a stripper clip in between that small space, which is physically impossible due to the entry being right under the scope.
now in this game the m1a1 carbine has more recoil than the mg 42, what is that reasoning?
B-ALB Nathan MG42s are mounted on bipods or tripods, that reduces recoil and gives them great accuracy.
they do decrease the recoil greatly.. but still more recoil than the m1a1 if you put the mg42 in full auto like in the vid
No, the recoil doesn't increase that much so long as you are not holding the machinegun like a rifle on your shoulder. Though the gun is heavy enough that it counters the recoil, and you can find real footage of German soldiers holding it and firing it on the shoulder like a rifle, and even hip-firing it.
In the end, it's a Call of Duty game. The MG42's monster rate of fire would have caused severe heating after shooting full auto for so long.

World At War and This one are my favourites. COD 1 doesn't need any epic cutscenes or extreme gameplay to stand from the rest. Its just what it is, simple gameplay, original story and responsible controls.
This game is a masterpiece, it really elevated the quality standard of it's era, truly a polished game.
I can't believe I watched the whole thing and totally remembered how bloody exciting it was. Such a long time ago

Campers were born in Modern Warfare 2 really. The map and game design was made for them.

Tina Pickering I liked the first Black Ops but mainly because it was very Vietnam-based. It still didn’t seem like part of the Call of Duty series along with all of the more recent games. I just still play the old ones and I much prefer them :)
