i've been interested in baselang for a single hardcore push to kickstart the speaking portion. Also Spanish After Hours is a great channel as is Dreaming in Spanish... it amazes me that her manner of telling stories...I can follow them and understand the entire thing without having known the words beforehand. I've tried all the wrong ways to go about learning spanish...such as over 1000 anki cards of vocab words without context. At one point I learned them all....and then later forgot a large portion of them. Spending LOTS of time memorizing verb conjugation tables.....and making no progress in actually learning to communicate. I agree 100% with what you've said... I now think that if I had to do it all over again, I would spend 3 to 6 months simply watching films, tv shows, and reading graded readers on my current level at that time. Input, input, input. probably halfway through that time, I would start writing a short daily journal and just trying to talk to myself in spanish as I'm working out or doing household chores etc. Then, with all that input under my belt....watching, reading, journaling and talking to myself... I would love to try baselang. If that wasn't possible.... finding a friend and asking them to just talk to me in spanish when we hang out.
Well done men! What a commitment, I'm on my journey of learning English. I have been on the US for a year now but most of the time I'm alone with my thoughts or at home with my family speaking Spanish. I'm definitely can't speak about any topic in English as you can do in Spanish, is way easier for me writing than speaking as I have more time. After watching your video I think that it's because I'm lacking input and interaction with native speakers, but for me it is hard to overcome the shame of not being able to speak properly. Great video!
Great shots bro! From a fellow traveler who learned Spanish the "practical" way I gotta say it's by far the quickest and most fun way to go. Time is money and money can be spent on experiences so why waste hours drowning in flashcards when there's an entire continent and more out there you can interact with in person or online? Vamos! My goal for this year is Indonesian and French!

It's true what you say learning pro nouns and verbs is boring and a waste of time. How does a baby learn by keep listening to the language every single day until the finally can speak it. Forcing a language never works well learning it naturally is definitely easier. Everyone I went to school will to learn Spanish was always frustrated and never learned much. Thanks for the video
