the part in 500 days of summer that is reality vs expectation... makes me cry so much because I've been there and I've felt like tom......and regina's song perfectly describes that feeling....
It's my all-time favorite movie. I wish i watched it 11 years ago tho. but I doubt my 2nd grade brain would understand the movie.

Holy son of a God.. I've been there too.. what became so bad, the fact that it was happened few months later after i've watched this movie.. Then when I saw this movie once again, man.. So Tom's tears were true...

She sounds almost identical to the album version. A sign of someone who can actually sing, and really well.
So different than her shows now! A cheap keyboard, a dinner table chair and a milk crate. It's crazy! I love Regina Spektor.

Same here. I identify with Tom (the main character in 500 Days of Summer) a lot, even if that's not a good thing, and that made me shed a lot of manly tears.

a lot of talent in this singer and player.
I definitely love the other musicians, esp. the cellist in this piece. She's amazing, that goes without saying so. This song is so sad and has so much emotion, it does almost sound like a cry for help. Wow.

@jacquelinevaleria6 Have you been to her youtube group? *blinks* Plus, this live version is slightly altered from the album version as well. But in all, sticks closest to what she's playing. That, and once you get in into your fingers, you find that it's pretty simple of a song to play. Same chords repeated.
