- A few weeks ago, we discussed content theft running rampant on short-form apps like Tik Tok. Does it make a difference when using pre-existing content in other mediums?

8:55 I'd say the sampling really fits here, because the original song's lyrics is much more darker than what the upbeat instrumental leads you to think.
That's a good point actually, I failed to look up what the lyrics translated to lol
✋Porter Robinson mentioned!🤚 In all seriousness, the time it took to assemble this vid and the passion that comes through to us make this vid a home run!
I watched Insidious JUST in time to understand that "old woman who understands everything" reference.
A couple of examples of sampling that I can think of off the top of my head:
ABBA - Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! sampled into Madonna - Hung Up
Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone sampled into TRIXL - Save Me
this was a good showcase of sampling and your music taste! it's one of those things that brings another layer to the enjoyment of the song if you know, you know etc. shawn wasabi's work I think was the first time I realized sampling could its own instrument and now I'm a sucker for any midwest emo song with a random monologue intro!
I think the most memorable use of sampling for me was when natasha kills got cancelled on the x-factor for dragging a contestant's performance as "plagiarism" and everyone brought up her song daddy's girl that just had hall and oates rich girl for the first 20 seconds lol.
Of course, I wonder what you think about interpolation of melodies, which is sometimes a much more gray area of transformative work!
wooooo my recommendation got in at 12:20
men I trust is a HEAVENLY band. if you want a really floaty instrumental by them serenade of water is also amazing. the flip on men I trust is also one of my favorites honestly, joey did an amazing job
50mins before premiere. Still I can say this is gonna be an awesome video. Thx for your content and keep going ❤

Samples are goated. As long as you’re not blatantly ripping off another song. When used as modems for build up or musical “sentence enhancers” it just adds another layer of emotion. Can be nostalgic in some cases because you know the older song.
SEWERSLVT REFERENCE 🤑🤑🤑🤑
I always like looking at sample breakdown videos especially the ones about Daft Punk. Last I remember people were just recently figuring out what songs were sampled for their early albums.
Also, how many copyright claims did you get?
Surprisingly only two for a couple songs near the end. Specifically Lustt - Pillow Talk and EDEN - untitled
You're gonna eat deez walnuts!!!
Thanks so much for leaving me deaf in the start
no problem glad i could help
Surprised you didn't mention Daft Punk :'(
There was a section talking about harder better faster stronger but I ended up cutting it out because I felt like I wasn't making any sense lol. If people wanna hear it I might toss it on patreon as an extra
@@Campfireharvest yeah the entire discovery album has great samples
A walnut? Shell and all, right?
bet
Whatever happened to Porter Robinson? 😢
He still exists! He's dropping an album next month and I'm hype fr
