Keep in mind that when Wes first left the band in 2001, he specifically said that the reason he left was because he didn't want to sell out for money anymore. Personally, he always struck me as someone who really cared about music more than profit. Perhaps the most among the band members.
i think thats something he boned together at home. that guitar has a bit of history. you can search it on youtube. apparently its a rejected guitar because the commisioner didn't like the fretboard color. so wes took it. removed the front pick up and the knob that controled filled it with epoxy did some doodling. anythinb but custom. all this is on youtube.
Wes gets help from world renown artists with some of his most recognizable costumes , He takes it seriously , VERY seriously, Hes been wearing some of the SAME ones for 20 years

I'm so happy they're back together. Them breaking up and getting back together after all the bullshit feels so 2000s. I feel like everybody cared about what everybody else thought back then and it really drove a lot of people and especially bands apart. Now that we're all older than 20 years have passed we realize none of that bullshit matters and we just want to rock out.
Wes is freakin awesome. That shit made my laugh.. I don't keep it real very often, but when I do.... Just saw them Tuesday at Pine Knob..... Wow wow wow.. I was expecting a lot and they Delivered more than I could have imagined, just Phenomenal!!! been on a high for days.. Fred is so damn smooth, cool. Huge Storm, Lightning, rain, shelter in place, kicked out and brought back in. They played late and Rocked that Motherf#$r Down!!! And I was 15 foot from the Stage and Wes was right there in all his Glory.. Thanks LB

Sound dude had the keyboard monitor at 11 and it was directly next to and pointed at my right ear when she came in on they keyboard solo. It was so loud I thought I had been struck by lightning and I was legitimately having an out of body experience. I didnt drop a single note from the bass line but my right ear rings and goes deaf for a few minutes. It started about once a month but now happens once or more a day. 8(
