Electoral reform in Canada?
10 or 20 years ago, I would have welcomed reform for our voting process.
Now that I see elections devolved into a demographic identity politics circus that only cares about your physicalities -- your skin color, sex, religion -- any changes to the voting system can only further that nightmare.
I voted "no" when BC held a referendum for a change to the STV (single-transferable vote).
Your vote would never be wasted, so why not start a small independent party? Seems like a good idea, only let's not fool ourselves. Every single new party would be based on superficial identity politics -- skin color, ethnicity, religion, sex.
Back in the day, when Canada was 97+% white, all the politicians running for office were all white heterosexual males. It was an equal playing field. As bizarre as this sounds, it would have been easier to vote for an ideal candidate, as you'd have to be focused on their policies, ideas, credibility and platform, etc. Knowing that 96% of blacks voted for Obama in 2008 doesn't bode well for democracy, which should be focused on policy, not a superficiality, like the color of a persons skin.
Another lesson from the U.S., was the Democrats zeal to flood as many immigrants, refugees and illegals into red states to turn them blue (Republican to Democrat), knowing that on average, immigrants in the U.S. tend to vote Democrat. I'm not aware of any political bent in Canada for new immigrants, but with a reformed voting process that could only mean empowering identity politics, it can never be a good thing.
My opinion -- democracy only works good in ethnically homogenous societies. Canada's future is in for a bumpy ride.

Justin only had a sheen with his promises with 39% of Canadians not most. Americans had only to look at Trudeau's Canada to get an idea of how Hillary would rule them, with promises that only were made to get elected not fulfilled. If he has expectations to get re-elected, he needs to take a very different approach to government or he will have to get a real job. Our petro dollar is dropping at the same time that world oil prices are going up shouts volumes about how Justin and company are doing with our economy- terrible.
I remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer has a seizure every time he hears Mary Harts voice on TV. I thought how can the sound of a voice trigger that kind of reaction? Now I know. Because every time I hear Trudeau's voice I vomit.

Rex dropped the ball on the conservative race. Andrew Scheer is the standout. Listen to his opening statement. Addresses Trudeau's crap right out of the gate, is charming and witting, cares about protectionist policies, but in a more tactful manner than Kelly Leitch. I like Leitch as a champion on contentious issues, but not as PM.
Once Trudeau is turfed and he will be, Canada should separate from the East Coast Provinces. Just let it slide into the Atlantic and disappear. Those ignorants have betrayed us all and I do hope they suffer severely for it.
