I found your channel when I was planning my wedding and totally fell in love with you and your smile...I recently broke off my engagement because he became abusive and I did something very similar to what you did...left my plans, friends and family to live in New York in total isolation with this man I was in love with...once he had me away from my family and in a place where I had no support he became abusive so I really REALLY appreciate this video because it gives me such comfort knowing that i wasn’t the only fool in love who made questionable decisions...super glad you finally got to LA...scars show us where we’ve been but don’t have to dictate where we are going ❤️
Wow my experience is so similiar to yours it's crazy. He did not treat me well but we had become codependent on eachother. He even got a ring from his dad to propose as well but I didnt want to go to the family get together were he was gonna do it..one day I just woke up and realized I deserve to be who I want to be and happy and life isnt always comfortable. Now I have my own place and on my own I feel more like myself then I had in the 7 years we were together. ♡ thanks for sharing! I'm hoping to move away to Oregon from michigan. I've lived in many places as a child but never so far from my parents and this just gives me more confidence!
God's timing is perfect so I'm not sure you missed out on anything in LA the year you "wasted" I believe you were where you needed to be to learn what you needed to learn to be the person you are now.
You may not have seen the value in your husband now had you not gone through all that etc.

Great video! You are a breath of freah air. This video is relevant to all ages. Im knocking on 40s door and I can relate. I have procrastinated, settled, put dreams on the back burner... some for relationships and at other times for "jobs" that weren't careers. Im just now finding out who I am. You are blessed to experience this at a young age. Keep it up, with your personality and intelligence the sky is the limit!
I knew my whole life there was no way I was staying in KY so I never even bothered to let myself have a serious relationship. As soon as I turned 18 I moved to Florida, lots of stuff both good and bad happened, and now I live with my love of my life and the best puppy ever and know there’s no possible way I could ever be happier.

I’d just say to try not to think “what if” and ruminate about the past so much. I feel like I “wasted” time in school not knowing what I was doing. But, like you, I grew so much and figured it out during my “wasted time”. ❤️

I can relate so much to this, thank you for sharing for all the other females out there that need this!! I had two similar long term relationships to yours in high school and college. I do not have regrets besides putting myself last. Always caring about others before myself. Then I too met the man of my dreams and he was around me the whole time in high school and college when I wasn’t even looking to date. I was hurt and trying to find myself and better who I was before jumping into something new. I got to follow my dreams, graduate college and become a teacher! Thank you for being so inspiring!!

There is a particular time in life that I might have considered "wasted time." It was a time where I had looked back and thought, "if only I had accepted xyz truth God shared with me about my life earlier, maybe things would be different." Maybe. But, I gave it some thought and realized, things happen the way they happen because that's how they were meant to happen. Yeah, I didn't accept that truth God shared with me, but, I realized that even if I did, I would not have been ready for it at that time, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. Regarding your story, I think about that girl who "just happened" to be looking for a place to live just as you were looking to leave. I don't think that was a coincidence but divine intervention - not just for you, but also for her. So, maybe things happen the way they happen because that's how it was meant to happen.
I put off watching this video, mainly because I am currently going through something that I'm starting to regret a little bit.
I've always had a lot of ideas about what I want to do with my life. At the age of 4, I declared vehemently that I wanted to be an actress(and had since been taking steps-- no matter how small-- towards that dream)... but then as I got older, there were so many things that I wanted to be. Instead of constantly changing my dream, I would add to it. NOT ONLY did I want to be an actress, but I wanted to be a marine biologist AND a forensic psychologist AND a writer AND a teacher AND a crime scene investigator AND... the list goes on and on. I couldn't focus on one goal anymore and it got to be too overwhelming to the point that I just gave up on it all. No further steps were taken towards any of it.
Now I feel stuck in Wisconsin, when I would rather be in LA, in a job that I also feel stuck in(but that doesn't pay enough to save to move elsewhere nor give me enough time to get a 2nd job), with someone who is egotistical whom I have no idea if I should really be with them.
After watching this video, I'm still a bit stuck, but at least I know I can get where I want to be eventually. And I sort of know where to start now.
I am SO PROUD of you for chasing your dreams and trusting that God would make a way. I can’t imagine what your life would look like if you had stayed with #*}=£? and never moved out to LA. I know we give you a hard time about moving back to TX, but CA is clearly where the Lord wants you. I love you and Brook SO MUCH❤️❤️❤️

I had a very similar experience as well! Although I didn’t follow a boy to college, I did keep fighting to stay in a relationship with him after college when I should’ve ended the relationship sooner. I felt like I had wasted the year that I spent fighting to make that unhealthy relationship work. But if things didn’t work out the way they did and the relationship didn’t end when it did, then I wouldn’t have met the man who is now my fiancé and the love of my life

It's no rush. Take your time in thinking about what you love. Find a way to pursue what you love and make a living (it might take some googling). There's no job, career, or lifestyle that's perfect. Just look for what fits you best. I hope that helps!
