This episode, along with e3, pissed off so many lames. They were coming up with every excuse under the sun to justify their disdain for it. Huge comedy.
10 year long fans of the game had a reason to get mad at episode 3. We didn't get to see the funny interactions between Bill and Ellie. And NOBODY complained about episode 7 with Riley cuz it was done EXACTLY how it did in the DLC and we loved it.

You know e3 received criticism for totally different reasons aside from missing out in a couple of jokes. Also, you're absolutely incorrect about the criticism e7 received. Many who were still pissed off about e3 "being woke" were piggy backing off of that same sentiment for e7. Not only that, they tried to say it was perverted for having two girls under 18 share a brief peck on the lips. It was an abysmal attempt at slandering the show. As if teenage characters have never pecked lips in any sitcom or movie before without them being up in arms. I wonder what the distinction would be there... 🙄
