You people are TRULY SICK!! not just you, but 99.9% of persons watching this video. Why are you people always so HAPPY to be scrutinized and highlighted in ways that are similar to observing animals? This is no different from the DISCOVERY channel following animals.
Where are the black people with cameras roaming white countries and showing HOW they live, their quirky ways etc etc? There's no such thing because white folks are NOT desperate for YOUR attention, it's meaningless to them...and even if it wasn't, you would NOT be allowed to brazenly show up and start filming and talking about them in this manner.
Most of you have nothing, except for whatever they approve, from mix lineage, interracial marriages etc. On your own, it's ALWAYS mediocrity with the door wide open for ANYONE nonblack to come in and document.
As a Jamaican I find this SHAMEFUL! The film was well done, however, it's the same old story i.e. THE POOR INDIGENTS MAKING DO!! They are not sensible enough to develop a better system. They can only REJOICE for being noticed for skills that emerged out of destitution, or for their jobs of SERVITUDE to tourist. Everyone exploits you!! and you're all happy for that, then complain about crime and poverty. Quit being happy for being world_wide puppets.

Really enjoyed this documentary and viewing the passion and vibrancy of the Jamacian culture💛💚❤ I loved how the guy that was interviewed throughout the program talked about how a simpler way of life is the key to happiness and gives less of a headache. That is exactly the sentiment I am attempting to live by although, it is not an easy task here in the UK. I gave up my house in October of last year and have been living in my tiny van home every since. Nothing makes me happier than collecting wood for my woodburner and worrying about the challenges of survival (i.e keeping warm in the winter, having water, eating and finding a place to shower) over the inherent stress and unnatural expectations that modern-day society places on us. Wise words from a very handsome man 🙌!!!

The Jamaican markets and stall owners etc aren't as poor as this video suggests though I have to be honest!
The majority of the people who work and sell at the markets have their own vans and have had transport sorted out for years. Of course there's poorer people who use the pushcarts but it's not the vast majority of them like this video suggests. I feel like this needed to be said. Old school Jamaicans do like to get through a day without having to buy the things/food they need if possible. If they can live/eat off the land for free, naturally then they prefer to do that (but let's be honest that just makes sense unless you're a materialistic person). I highly recommend a vacation to Jamaica for anyone who's never been there before it's an amazing place that's almost a separate and different world all by itself. Nobody gets looked down on for not being a rastafarian and it's definitely not a racist place at all (I'll be completely honest and admit that I wondered if would be less friendly for some of my white friends but no sir we were smoking weed with dreadlock rastafari within 2 hours of getting off the plane.

Trust me, though a good amount might own vehicles a lot of those people come in on trucks from rural areas in the early mornings before day light and a lot are from around the city centers in the ghettos and such who buy and sell. A lot get by day to day and don't own their own vehicles. I'm from a rural area but I also spent time in Kingston and May Pen so I've spent some amount of time on both ends of the spectrum. Most market vendors from the country charter vehicles to take them to the market. You are not necessarily wrong for pointing out that other side though, some market people do own their own vehicles . I know one guy from my area who bought his vehicle after a long time chartering, I used to drive for him and help him sell in Montego Bay market. It was a great experience, we use to charter small trucks and drive around the island and sell sometimes. That was pretty cool and very adventurous. I live in Chicago right now, really love it here - the Midwestern vibe is super cool and a lot of the people are warm and super cool too. I love and miss Jamaica though, this was a little hard for me to watch at the beginning. I almost stopped watching, because the nostalgia and the struggle I see tempered by life's greatest medicine (laughter) had me feeling sad. One love still to all, just wanted to chime in with my perspective and insight on the topic. Blessings fam ❤️

I’ve ate ackee all my life, never tasted like scrambled eggs to me. 😜 Doesn’t taste like scrambled eggs to gran or to aunt and uncle. It’s far more delicious. (These people always copy what strangers say).🤪
The Ackee Pod when it is fully opened NATURALLY is safe to eat. However there is a substance in the UNOPENED ackee which is toxic but the substance evaporates into the sun as the ackee slowly opens up naturally - not by man.🌞 The SUNLIGHT SUCKS OUT THE TOXIC substance as the ackee opens up.🌞 Leaving the ackee safe to pick and prepare for consumption.👩🏽‍🎓❤🇯🇲
