First issue, you said "In this essay, I will argue that..." - use of 1st person already a fail. Make sure to use like this people: "This essay will argue that..." Or "It has been argued that Queen Mary Of Scots was cool...". Nice video though, I am looking forward for more.
I have to say I disagree with any teacher that says using first person in an essay is wrong. It's the most clear and direct way to say what you are trying to do with the essay. Obviously you have to conform to what your teacher expects so ask them, but this requirement for unnecessarily formal writing that makes your writing less direct leads to very poor outcomes and is confusing for students.
