The way you played the opening part is pretty practical and smart, compared to the traditional way everyone else plays it...
How does everyone else play it?
Looks like this is the same way other transcribers recommend to play it.
Melsarion He played 2 notes with his LH at the very start. Other people play the root note (1 note) and the rest with the RH (which I feel, makes it harder)
well the tutorial/sheets I watched/used showed to play two notes with the left hand too.
Not in the video though. The midi/raw sheets only have one note on the bass, 'cause it's nicer to notate that way :p
But I'm sure there are as many covers/transcriptions out there not doing it that way. This song is quite popular :)
thats how i've always seen people play it and im just like 'WHY???? it makes it so much harder to play it like that!' I've always played it 2 with LH then the rest of the chord with RH

Yuri On Ice is the thing that kept me skating. I know it sounds cringy but I had a lot of insecurities I let get to me and when I found this anime it taught me no matter how many times I fall during practice, I can find a way to get to the top.

The trick is to learn it slow and as you practice you'll get faster
I've learned around 44 seconds but really slow with the second half of that dont think I'll be able to learn all of it wayyyy too hard

I just started to learn yesterday. I’ve literally been playing it all night.
Never stop believing. I’ve been playing for 4 years now and have finally reached the level where I can play the piece that made me begin playing piano. It was simply too beautiful to give up on. When I first saw it I thought It was too impossible and could only play hardly anything with only my right hand. I finally grabbed it after 4 years and learned a rough version of it (still making errors but it’s being played) and have finally recently finished it with all I have to give to the piece. Please don’t give up on your dreams and keep going because nothing can stop you!
So I’m literally 1/5 way through this song currently, and I think I have gained a new understanding of the universe

@@rhys8878 Im glad to hear that! Im currently trying to study it again since I quit because my fingers were too short to reach the octaves. They're still too short for me but I'm figuring out what keys to omit. Hope I'll get past the intro soon

cousinzbandmack ....I used to do lessons when I was young (for about 3 years) and then quit for years...I only just picked it up a year ago and have almost finished learning this! I've been picking up a lot of songs quite quickly similar to this one and is that normal? Or is this strange? I haven't been playing for ages at all....are you meant to have been playing for ages to learn this? I'm confused.
Even after 3 years of the anime being released, and countless re-watches, Yuri on Ice will always be one of my most favorite animes to ever exist 💕

This song is the musical equivalent to Yuuri's journey throughout the show...
The beginning sounds timid and vulnerable, almost hollow in terms of sound. Then it becomes more full with deeper notes and more complex melodies, which there are many going on at the same time. It sounds more confident and hopeful. The end resembles the beginning, but it feels like a conflict has been resolved in the melody and could represent Yuuri being able to stand on his own without being vulnerable.
Gonna start learning this and I'm so excited!! Every time I hear this song I get so emotional, so I can't wait to start actually learning this myself!!
