Sadly yes. Medusa's Plot and Monotone Princess did get English translation patches, however, and the team that did those translations (AGT Team) are currently working on Battle Resonance as well.

My god Soul Eater NOT. So what the heck was going through the authors mind with this series? Was he thinking “hey people like this series because of students turning into weapons and killing demons. Let’s just take all that away and make it about a bunch of moe girls and have it focus on Slice of Life stuff. Thats what the fans really want right?” And then afterwards he was just like “you know what, i think ill go ahead and do some other work and make an anime adaptation out of that and never touch this series again.”
Oh btw, for those who keep wanting a Soul Eater Remake series. Keep in mind that if a remake were to happen, they would mot likely go with the moe designs. I know this because Fire Force has the exact same design style. So if a remake were to happen, itll most likely stick to that style rather then the original style. And keep in mind, one of the many Reasons why people hated NOT so much was because of the moe style. So for all we know, the author isnt approving another Soul Eater anime because of that reason.

I'm so sick of people shitting and dissing on NOT. God damn. Like sure, it definitely wasn't as good as the original series but it honestly isn't that bad. Jesus Christ you people are dramatic. There's nothing wrong with incorporating a little bit of slice of life into fantasy and action. In fact, it's important to do that every now and then for character development, growth, and realism. If it's non stop action all the time it can get stressful for the writer/artist, the story/characters, as well as the audience. Fantasy is my favorite genre, absolutely wonderful, but there needs to be a break every now and then to show the characters developing on their own and with each other in non stress or violent and high stakes situations as well.
Also Fire Force isn't quite as moe as you're making it out to be. It's certainly not as moe as NOT was. It's not as good as Soul Eater either though. I am definitely upset to hear that Fire Force is the last manga Okubo is making especially when there was SO MUCH lore, plot, and content in general left behind in Soul Eater.
@@stormy5452 I agree that there should be at least some slice of life moments to give the story a break, my issue is that NOT is ALL Slice of Life, and what action we do get is horribly animated. And I would agree with you more if the original didn’t already have those slice of life filler moments. Why bother making a separate series where that’s all the focus? The original perfectly balanced its slice of life and action perfectly fine. There was no need to make another story focus entirely on that.
And that’s not all, this spin is completely pointless. Does it expand on the lore? Does it tell us how many characters ended up how they are in the original given that this is a prequel? NOPE. At best it just tells us that people celebrate Halloween and Christmas and that’s it. Oh but we do learn of the youngest Gorgon sibling……… she’s only in the show for a few minutes until she’s anti climatically defeated in the end and she’s never mentioned by Medusa or Arachne in the original series but she’s there.
Look if people like this series that’s perfectly fine, but in my opinion, no matter which way you slice it, Soul Eater NOT is just a complete mess of a series that does nothing to expand the lore, or do anything worth talking about. The new characters are bland and generic archetypes, the animation is a HUGE downgrade from the original, the returning characters do next to nothing, the character design are beyond hideous, and it’s just an overall snooze fest from beginning to end
