In my house was the opposite my grandma used to tell some specific family friends that my mom was adopted. When my mom was little because she had blond curly hair and hazel eyes, she used to tell my mom that her actual mom died and she adopted her from the streets. We even have a running joke that everytime we pass a specific cemetery we say by to my moms real mom 😂😂. My grandma had a whole backstory. When grandma got sick and the family friends found out it was all lies, the reactions was just like this 😂😂😂

And at age 6 was our last chance for a puppy. It became a regular part of her cake and gift giving. We had no idea that she that she believed us. But, on her sixth birthday we forgot to mention it. She had not opened her gift and started crying. Just sobbing.
