- I set out to see what vehicles can jump the furtherst when it comes to a BeamNG Drive long jump course, there is also some huge wrecks along the way and totally out of control cars.

With so many cars clearing the landing zone, I wonder: what car would jump the shortest distance? And with that comes the caveat, of course, that they have to be driven at full speed, no slowing down right before the ramp.

The Twin-Mill Hopper pulled to the right due to the fact that there is 3000 HP and the belts, unless the motor is completely reworked, always turns the same way. Hence, high power cars revving make them tilt or pull when in motion. The Twin-Mill Hopper has two motors causing double the power of one motor, and also double the amount of belts. Therefore, double the pull/tilt. You’re welcome for the vehicular physics lesson for today Alex and comment readers.
Not only are the possibilities endless, this is a *gorgeous* looking map; the nicest I've seen in a Beam video. Would love to see the filming crew do some sheannengany races here.

This is the video game equivalent of a five year old bashing two hot wheels together, and I’m pretty sure I could hear the childish glee in Alex’s voice as he absolutely wrecks these cars. XD. Man, I might just get this game for this mod alone. Fantastic content, you totally made my day with this.
Oh man Beam isn't just about crashing cars. There are quite a few modded cars and maps for the game including a few mods for boats and planes that are all really stinkin COOL
Beam is a fantastic soft body physics sim. Highly recommended. It has a lot of appeal for people who like to crash things to bit, as well as for those who actually enjoy driving. Does quite well to respect most driving disciplines.

With many of the vehicles losing their front end on landing, I've thought of another one; the John Clarke/Brian Dawe (Aussie political satirists) long-jump championship. The droning in the background, it's either one of the engines still running, or Alex's poor computer on full tilt trying to keep up with this glorious mess

Yes. I'm currently doing Netball which is boring as fok.
For a better launch of the drag cars:
1. Do a burnout to heat up the tyres
2. Hold the brakes on the start line
3. Press the gas pedal just not enough to get going forward with the brakes on
4. Release the brakes
You'll get much smoother launch and much better control.
Tire thermals aren't currently simulated in BeamNG, so burnouts don't do anything other than looking cool right now.

I think that would only work on the drag strip, on a normal less grippy road you would just spin the tires and lose control

IIRC the Covet's lack of brakes is caused by a car mod (can't remember the name but it was a Korean hatchback thing) that has some conflict with the Covet. Has also been known to delete textures in the past
it was the mione i believe. it was fixed in an update about two years ago but alex still has the original version...
I wonder if the weirdly attached rear bumper is also caused by that mod.

Actually I think that the Kitt Wendover deserves the bonus points. It's all wheel drive and only the rear drive shaft broke. The engine was still running and the front drive shaft did not break. It even had all of its wheels. You briefly tapped the throttle and it moved a bit, but from what I can tell from the video you did not try to drive it. I'm 95% sure that the Kitt Wendover would have drove, not well of corse, but I think it would have drove somewhat. I could be wrong but those are just my thoughts. Keep up the great work and I hope to see another long drive episode soon! I know you're busy, but the long drive is my favorite series from you and I want to see if you can find the plymouth fury! He also didn't engage the front axles on the twin engine hopper which probably would have helped with control
Anyone else read this as "Long Vehicle jump!", as in only long vehicles (bus, truck, limo etc) ^^
This is by far my favorite kind of video, great work!
I still think about the set of two videos around jumping cars across a canyon from years ago, the premise of videos like that of this are just so fun and comfy and I love to watch them.
My new favorite version of automotive lawn darts, just behind the mad chap who uses a trebuchet.

As someone who used to do this with Hotwheels cars and a track with a big jump as a kid, this video was amazing! One of my favorites! Keep up the good work!

pro tip. You can control the pitch of the car with the throttle while airborne. Completely lifting is why the cars are doing nose dives.

I think for the Van it's because of it being in AWD mode. If you switched it to RWD only instead of turning nos off it woulda worked. Because there was a transfer case button between hi and nos

Beam is a fascinatingly good simulator, my only complaint is the less than realistic “arcade like” gravity, the vehicles bouncing like Flubber, and sliding down the hills like their covered in Teflon.
