It’s actually not weird at all to play one or no sof. I actually it’s the best way to play it and I was sold on the sof build.
I run one as well as 4th starter after debug. I use sof either as a backup plan to summon off of extra deck monsters if I get hand trapped or most notably as a way to OTK with raging Phoenix
Many of times unless I have sof and just a bunch of handtraps or no extenders I prefer to summon other monsters instead even if they don’t have a summon condition like foxy, debug, sof…
If I have a falco a sof a gazelle. I’ll normal summon the falco. Because I know I’ll get that advantage of the sof off of the wikkid when it searches for weasel. And it opens up plays later. And if I search for will later I can always summon sof through that too
The much better end boards with debug get you a free search from wikkid so that’s one less monster you need to fetch from extra deck monster effects.
Plus it doesn’t lock you into fire. Meaning you can open the door for a lot of stringer end boards with things like dweller. Or bagooska. Or little knight. Or baronne if you play the level 5 sala tuner.
I have end boards that end on sunlight wolf, pyro, a set roar, a bagooska

That’s a much stronger end board. You need a ton of gas to make that end board but that’s what’s possible
And if you play enough gas you can play through a debug negate.
In order get a xyz 4 you do need to play parallel xceed or a Falco in addition to the jaguar you almost always run. Or both. I play both
But the extra deck is super tight. Even though I choose to play only 2 rage. Wish I could play 3 or a sprind but it’s too tough.
I could cut a fire charmer but that would be a tough sell because if I get asked I can still find a way to get to a decent end board.
Sprind is good though not gonna lie. But I think it’s better in builds that play 3 sof because it is a level 2.
Thats quite a comment my friend, but yes I agree. SoF seems to be at the center between different styles of playing the deck and often dictates the extra deck around itself and the number of copies you play. I think i'll test out the Wicckid stuff at some stage soon though, just to expand my knowledge of the deck. If you would consider yourself something of a Salamangreat expert, I would advise joining the Discord where you can see other peoples takes on this, and other, decks and engage with other members of the community!
I haven't had the time to truly play around with these awesome cards yet, and I was under the impression that Debug wasn't a 1 card combo based on what other people had told me about the support. Seeing that it is in fact full combo makes me happy. It also means that SoF is an even worse card to run as a starter haha, but definitely as a 1-of to search wheezel.
The other reasons to play Debug over it are the fact it doesn't lock your out of Wicckid, which, if Nibiru ever returned to prominence will be the main play probably. But right now I think it's safe to ignore that line mostly.
Also, there's the fact that Debug can search for Code of Soul, which is quite nice.
Sof can also be a 1 card starter but it does a different line using will of the salamangreat it does require running sprind in the extra deck and emp meowmine along with will of the salamangreat in main deck to end on 3 disruptions pyro phoenix, Princess and meowmine. personally I'm running both debug and sof which puts my deck at a total of 14 starter cards so I think it's worth it to have the extra copies of a starter but totally not necessary if wanting to save ur mats
Yeah Ive seen teh Wicckid lines once or twice on my opps field, they seem pretty cool but outside of certain protections usually dont result in a much better board so you're right; unless the big rock is everywhere we can put it away
@@convergedgaming9948 it might not result in a better board but it's consistent and plays through more interruptions because you can chain block gazelle or wicckid with the other one. It's a free search and body which makes it ideal to get through a hand trap or two. So, it's better with it than without it imo

Yeah, I was in a totally different recording set up that I had thrown together in my partners home in the states, def gonan try recreating it though because it was a blast to use
The deck now to what it was before is a pleasant surprise I never played with the new support so was just waiting for it to drop on master duel Konami did so well with the support it's so good now I've been playing it since release and it is so much fun I needed something refreshing as I was getting a little burnt out in md recently

Keen to play this deck, so many URs in it now though which is a shame. Maybe when phoenix goes down in price i might even play it in the tcg. Just always loved the idea of salads when i first started playing the game
They've always been a classic, hopefully you can get your hands on them soon
Currently I'm still working on my unchained deck which I made it a budget version cause before I had too many UR cards and I was also thinking of trying out Salamangreat since it's really cool
Both decks are awesome and fairly different in how they play, a cool dichotomy of strategy
Terror + Taket summon Number 75 free 1 negate effect same as engine Horus 2 level 8 summon Number 90 free 1 negate effect too.
Lady debug can also go to an anti nibiru line. But Masters players are so smart, they actually wait for your board to finish before they nibiru you. And I actually end with nothing
And about weasel's effect on summoning on opponent's field, don't use gazelle. If it's a mirror match, your opponent might use gazelle's effect
Yeah the Gazelle thing has only come up once but ironically it was because my Opponent was playing Salad and went first, giving me the mill

I didnt find it too necessary and I didnt want the video to be too long, Speedroid essentially just skips to Mirage and summons SoF from deck. If you already have Gazelle then you are full combo, if not then you are going to struggle just a little getting your hands on Weasel

Lady debug is a better starter in every way. Instead of searching salad of fire with miragstallio search jaguar or spinny in that order. Gets you more variety in gy for full will of salamangreat later in your turn. Running one isn't bad and having it as another 1card starter is better than nothing but locking you out on a starter sucks for your endboard possibilities.
