How Much Does a Blog Earn With 50k Pageviews?

  • One of my niche sites just hit a milestone, 50k pageviews/month. This is site #2 from another video I did a few months back. It's about a year old and continues to grow steadily. It was mostly unaffected by the December core update.
    The plan is to continue growing this site and eventually apply to Adthrive. I'm not unhappy with Ezoic or Mediavine, quite the opposite really. But I want to be diversified and I want to be active on all 3 of the major ad companies.
    Disclaimer: The monthly earnings shown for this site may be higher than usual due to it being December and the shopping season.

    Nice! Thanks for sharing. 50k pageviews is substantial, especially that it's only 13 months in. All the best for 2021 and hope that trajectory continues upward for you!

    I’ve seen your posts in r/juststart but never got the chance to say thank you for all the valuable and transparent content.
    I love how easy-to-digest and straight to the point your content is, to a point where I can’t believe it’s actually free.
    If you don’t mind, is this a full-time career or more like a side hustle for you at this point?
    Wish you all the good luck for 2021!

    Nice site! Very similar stats to mine (but double) mine gets about 20k sessions a month now with 130 posts and made almost $800 last month.

    Nice! I'm also in the pet niche. Can I ask what you do with YMYL topics regarding pets? Do you write those topics or ignore them? Also, do you have any EAT on your site? Like a veterinarian on the about page?

    • @NicheInformer
      @NicheInformer  Před 3 lety +1

      Can you give me an example of what you mean? If there are medical sites on the first page for a keyword then I will typically skip that topic. However this site is not pet focused, I do have a good amount of pet content on it though.
      I think people misunderstand what EAT is, it’s not something you can put on your site. It’s something your site gains over time. To answer your question though, no I don’t have a vet on my about page. That seems like it would be unethical to have a vet on the about page unless they were behind the content on the site.

    • @ipilledmyself8452

      @@NicheInformer I don't know if this is YMYL or close to it but I was talking about keywords like can [pet] eat [food]. I was planning on writing a bunch of content regarding this type of keyword but I'm having doubts if this is borderline YMYL.
      And regarding the EAT stuff, yeah I completely agree with you, but I still see a lot of pet blogs where they put a vet on their about page while the author on the actual content is not the vet. It always bothers me that I might be doing the wrong thing haha, anyways thanks for the reply!

      It’s probably worth trying, you don’t even have to remove Adsense from your site. You can use both, though I don’t recommend it.

    What is your average article length for informational / affiliate content?

    • @NicheInformer
      @NicheInformer  Před 3 lety +2

      It really depends on the topic. I published an article this morning that was only 563 words, but I have some info articles that are over 4k words. If I had to put an average on it though I'd say around 1k words is pretty typical.

      @@NicheInformer thanks for the response! What was your earning when you had 100 artciles? I'M doing all the writing myself for my blog and my target is around 100 articles in 6 months. I know earnings depends on a lot of factor.. But would love to know an estimate

    • @NicheInformer
      @NicheInformer  Před 3 lety +1

      @@rowelski I don't quite remember an exact number but probably a couple hundred/month by that point. It depends on the type of content though. Affiliate articles might earn significantly more than informational posts that are just monetized with ads. 100 posts by 6 months would be a good goal to hit, but don't get discouraged if you still aren't getting much traffic by that point, it doesn't get exciting until after that in most cases.
