Nice unknown band to explore. Thanks Dave.

We could use some more Americana. Therefore, I request " Look at Miss Ohio" by Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings. There are some great live versions.

hahaha great review ! Totally forgot i suggested this track to you guys. Was just checking the clip out because i noticed it was about Alberta until i heard you pronounce my name in a terrible way LOL 🤣 But that is totally understandable...its a Dutch name. But really glad that enjoyed the band and song...personally i do prefer the studio version than this KEXP performance, it more powerful in my opinion. On the other hand it gives an honest and pure look at the band and how they present themselves and their music. Hope you guys will check out more of the band in the near future....

She lived in a world of magic possessed by the devil's skew, from a shack near the swampland with a mud-pie brick, Marie stirred her witch's brew.
Good tune. The keyboardist may well have trained on pipe organ, which can have huge pedalboards (with both black and white pedals), multiple keyboards, and lots of buttons to pull and push. Search for Widor toccata (yes of course you know it, and turn the volume up). In the days before electrical and electronic wizardry, playing the organ was a multi-person job - one to tinkle the ivories, and one or more to sweat away working the bellows to keep the windbox up to pressure; a notoriously drunken trade,

I remember really liking this album a lot when it came out. Lot of nice hooky Americana tracks like this, great for singing along.
I have a recommendation for you guys. I’m curious if either of you have heard of the band Titus Andronicus. They were a critical darling for a bit in the early 2010’s, and I’d argue their 2010 album The Monitor is essential listening for indie/alternative music fans. My impression is that they never really crossed over to the UK, so I’m really curious if Jon even knows who they are.
I want to recommend the song A More Perfect Union, from that album The Monitor. Probably their biggest song.
Hope you can add it to the list. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for dropping the suggestion and the kind words. I have heard of them, but not their works, and like you I doubt Jon has heard of them, but I could be wrong. Regardless, they have been added to our list of viewer suggestions for a future Friday episode. Thanks again and be well! - Andy

Yep, you could be wrong. Yep, I have 'The Monitor' and 'The Airing of Grievances'.
      Cheers. Jon.

Is Husker Du a band you both know too well to react to? Or might you be willing to react to “Sorry Somehow?”

Hey Bob, I've struggled to get into Husker Du - they have been recommended to me many times. This might be the one to do it! Added to the list.
      Cheers, Jon.

Wonder if you’ve struggled with Bob Mould songs or Grant Hart songs.
It took Mould longer to find melody.
This is a Hart song. Was on their first major label record. So late in their run.

I previously gave Greg and Chris a song by Hart from the next and last album.

Sorry, not really into the country and western sound. But I do like a bit of the British version of country and western, namely folk rock. I would love it if you could react to Richard Thomas’s Vincent Black Lighting 1952. I pretty sure would know this Jon, but I think Andy would love it too.
