Seven People Injured After Major T-Bone Crash in Irvine, CA

Just before 8 PM, late Sunday evening 911 dispatchers were alerted to a major traffic collision at the intersection of Modjeska and Irvine Blvd in Irvine. Upon arrival, firefighter paramedics found a red Honda and a white Mini Cooper had been involved in a serious T-bone crash leaving several victims trapped in the wreckage. The white Mini Cooper suffered significant damage to the vehicle's passenger side and required hydraulic tools to extract the trapped victims.
At least four of the victims suffered critical injuries and seven total patients were transported to nearby trauma facilities for further evaluation.
Located near The Great Park in Irvine, the speed limit on this neighborhood road is 60 MPH, and is frequently the site of street racing and high-speed driving.
The crash is under investigation by the Irvine Police Department.
