OMGOSH welcome back.....thank you for sharing, I also live in an apartment. I live on the 3rd floor and I was really skeptical about starting my Daycare because I don’t live in a house but its been great. I’m a new provider (3 months in) so I’m still learning the ends & outs of the Daycare business. So looking forward to your new content. I’ve learned a lot just binge watching your old videos. Thanks again for sharing.
How has it been on the 3rd floor ? What ages do you have and what’s your group size ?
@@totstothetop I haven't had any complaints from my neighbors but I hear more noise from my neighbors below me they are really loud. I can hear the kids running its like they are running on my ceiling. I have a mixed age group my youngest is 9 months and my oldest is 8 yrs old. My 8 yr old I only have for after school care. I have a group size of 6. I would love a bigger space, after I got my first Daycare baby things started moving fast and the I started filling the spots really fast. I thought it would be a slow start but I filled my spots quickly.
Hearing that you filled your spots quickly makes me so happy. What have you done to sound proof ? This is my only concern . I haven't had any complaints so far, but I am always looking for new ways to help with sound and noise .
@@totstothetop I actually spoke with my neighbors and let them know that between such & such hours I run an In Home Daycare and they may hear a few bumps from the little ones running around and told them that I will try not to let the noise get out of hand. My neighbors have small kids so they were very understanding but thanked me for coming downstairs & next door to let them know. I ensured them that after 6:00pm they shouldn’t hear the amount of noise they hear during the day. What really helped us that most days my neighbors are working during the day. Me speaking to my neighbors I felt made things much easier.
I have a diffuser from young living that plays ,music,white noise ,ocean sounds and rain forest I believe. It's a blessing for sure. So is open concept! 😊♥️

Yay! You’re back! I missed watching your videos!! I live in a small one bedroom apartment and planning on using my living room for a home daycare, currently waiting to receive the initial inspection that will decide if I get my license or not.
I saw you wrote somewhere that you don’t have an assistant anymore. How is that like now? I’m a bit scared because if I get to open mine it will just be me as well so I’m wondering how that would go
I actually have been thinking about moving into an apartment since it’s my first time moving out and I actually wanted to start my own daycare but had doubts so this helped motivate me☺️ I think it would also be convenient for families in the apartment to let their kids go there.

I have been occupied with the many changes going on in my life. I downsized due to personal issues that arose. I haven't had any issues with my complex. I will be filming a tour once I have a chance.

I'm a home daycare provider in chicago illinois as and I have my home daycare in my apartment.....my capacity is 5 and I love it!
This is awesome !!! Do you have any tips for providers in apartments ? My only concern is noise . I'm trying my best to sound proof as much as I can. I haven't had any complaints thus far, but any tips you may have are appreciated.
@@totstothetop I live on the first floor and there is only 6 apartment units in my building...my children can be loud at times but my neighbors have never complained or said anything to me about it.....I just try not to play the music so loud when its nap time or music time and when we are doing circle time I try to keep my voice a little softer because i dont want to disturb my neighbors
I use a white noise sound from Spotify, it's a lifesaver as well. I am currently sleeping everyone in the same room and it's the only way I can move around and not wake them up during naptime.

Yassssss I’m about to get rid of my couches in my living room and dining room areas and start childcare in my apartment. Going to start off with 2 full time and 2 possible part time kids. So exciting! Are you in Cali?
I'm thinking about doing an in home daycare within the next year or so! The community college here offers a certificate to get my Family Child Care certificate and that's only 10 units!! So I should be able to complete those classes in a semester 😅🙏🏽 and I'll also be getting an Associate Teacher Certificate, which is 13 units, so that I can work at a daycare until I open my own!
I am thinking about doing an at home daycare in an apartment as well! What made you downsize from your house?

Hi Ashley! I know you mentioned doing another video on the tour of the new daycare. Quick question, did you use your entire livingroom for the daycare?
How was it telling all your parents? Did you lose some children due to the move? Do you charge less now? We live in the back house at my mils but want to move at some point , we do wonder if parents will pull their child . We do live in a great area and have a large yard but we are out growing our home so moving is a must. We live in California so homes are really expensive and considered a town home however most don't have a yard and feel like we are able to charge what we do because of what we are able to offer here :( I want to say I love your positivity and how you have made your daycare work out even in a smaller space. Good for you.💛
I was thinking of doing this as well. Moving my daycare to a apt or a home. I have my daycare right now in my basement. But I want something a little bigger.

You can try to use hair blow dryer, turn it to hot, then you can melt the crayon of any surface, wipe it off with a dry towel.

Hey Ashley! Thanks for the amazing video! I am soon starting an in home daycare and wanted to know what is the limit of kids you can have if I am the only one working?
It depends on your state and county . For me it’s 6:1 or 4:1 . The ratio has a lot to do with age as well . Contact licensing in your area and they should give you more information than I can . Thanks for watching .

I did cut my hair !!! I am almost adjusted to the new setting. Its so tough going from a big space to a smaller one. How do you like it thus far ?
@@totstothetop 💜looks good. I manage every day, It's a challenge. The only thing that I should have done is get a smaller tree this year, the tree took up half of my space ;)
I'm currently in apartment I asked my landlord can I do childcare they said no is there anything I can do about it
If the apartment said no, I’d assume you can .

Hello Mrs. Ashley! As a Registered Daycare Provider, do I need a Business License from the county too, or is it just the DCF Registration Aproval?
You need DCF approval and an LLC ( business license basically ) it’s used for taxes and for the parents to be able to claim taxes .
How did you make it in your computer. I just got my first Mac and am learning
