    Turning the air screw loose will feed more air to the engine. This will make your engine leaner. Right, it makes you consume less fuel but it will make your engine hotter which may cause engine failure.

      can't we just add more cooling fan to the engine then?

      We sincerely apologise to the general public for this very act of nuisance. The poster is one of our psychiatric patients who escape last night. We urge the public to go about their various business as everything is under control.
      Thanks for your understanding@@samueladitya1729

      The air screw? Is it the black plastic ! Or the iron ?

    He is correct that running lean will burn less fuel.
    What he is not speaking about, is how the engine will run hotter. More heat will equate to less engine life due to premature wear and/or failure of piston rings and valves.
    These engines are air cooled. They are set to run optimally for reliability and longevity in balance with fuel consumption and maintenance costs.
    Running lean will cost less in fuel, but more in wear & tear of the engine.
    I'd highly recommend that you do not follow this advice.

      @docfarl Před 4 měsíci

      The fuel you save in one or two weeks will more than buy and install a new piston and rings. Over a longer term, that fuel savings can even buy a new generator! So, doing something to save fuel makes sense.

      @@docfarlthere’s nothing bad in saving fuel if there’s no side effect but if there’s it doesn’t worth it at all, cuz once you start some issues with your gen😂 sope Otilo

    Will this not affect rpm ?

    • @robertkubrick3738
      @robertkubrick3738 Před rokem +2

      Could make it run faster, leaning out the engine. When a piston engine aircraft takes off, they lean out the engine to get maximum power then trim the fuel at altitude after they take off...in old planes anyway.

    • @docfarl
      @docfarl Před 4 měsíci

      The rpm is controlled by the Governor, which is inside the engine, but connected to the throttle with a small rod and spring.

  • @brucehurst2199
    @brucehurst2199 Před rokem +1

    It will burn the engine s vales.because it is to lean

    • @docfarl
      @docfarl Před 4 měsíci

      Engine valves don't burn! Piston rings will wear faster if the engine runs hotter.
