    a couple things. most importantly, wrap your ratchet with with the extra webbing. ratchets can explode and shoot metal everywhere. second, please point your toes forwards. its almost painful to watch you walk like that. you need your toes and heels inline with the slackline. try putting your arms straight out, then bend your elbows so your hands are above your head. kinda like a football field goal. that will help you a lot. stand up straight, but do keep you knees bent a little. look at where the slack line connects to the tree. lastly, although it is called a “slack line” a little extra tension could benefit you while you’re learning. it will also make it a little more bouncy, which is fun to walk on. overall, very entertaining to watch! keep it up lucas!

    slack line is really healthy on your legs, I personally find it helps strengthen ankles and knees really effectively, id recommend starting with a shorter distance between trees since that will make it a ton easier at first, or you can buy another regular ratchet strap to set up well above your main line as a hand hold and to help keep you on the line!

    I love how you always try new stuff! Every year I have a new year resolution, and it's always the same. " Learn something new" this year. Doesn't have to be crazy. Once I picked hoolahoop.

    General learning tip: Do not underestimate REST DAYS. Just practice the skill visually on the rest day, and you'll still get better

    I just looked at a tutorial and I noticed that the other guy placed both his heal and the ball of his foot on the slackline at the same time, while you were turning your feet to the sides and walking on the arches. I think that is why you had so much trouble. He had 2 contact points on the line while you only had one.

    Make sure to lock the ratchet all the way down. The same way you pull the level on the handle to release it will also let you shut the ratchet all the way. On the part leaving the tree you'll want to create a fold in an upward v shape to allow the line to extend out parallel to the ground. You've also got it a little bit too slack for easy learning. The tighter it is the easier it is to learn the fundamentals and wake up those muscles that help keep you balanced. Id suggest doing it either barefoot or in shoes, grippy socks may work but definitely aren't the best option. One more tip is to try to keep your feet in line with the line rather than walking with the middle of the foot you should strive to go heel to toe.

  • @juniperjuniper8774

    i’m only three minutes in so forgive me if you figured this out later, but you’ll always go where you look, so if you’re looking at the ground be ready to hit it. i find its best to make eye contact with the tree. also, the ratchet handle crank thing folds up more. squeeze the smaller handle inside of it and try to fold it up completely. this makes walking loads easier because you don’t have to deal with that extra weight swinging around. good luck!

  • @JxC250
    @JxC250 Před 2 lety

    Important things to remember, progression isn’t always linear and it comes in waves. Some days you’ll be better than other days even if you train every day.
    Also slack lining with different lengths and different tightnesses does affect you a lot. I used to slack line back when I was super into rock climbing but I’ve torn ankle ligaments since then and my ankle isn’t really stable enough to slack like anymore

    Safety warning: you need to close the rachet all the way! In your videos, it's always slightly open which means that the crank could potentially open making the line suddenly slide/lose tension.
