На Кавказе юноши и девушки присматривались друг другу на праздниках, свадьбах, посещая родственников, и даже в ходе сельских работ.
Девушка с кувшином идёт за водой к роднику, навстречу ей идёт джигит на лихом скакуне и просит напиться воды. В жизни случалось по разному, но традиции при этом не нарушались.
К сожалению или к счастью, современный мир вносит свои коррективы. Можем добавить, что благодаря социальным сетям, возможностей увидеть ту самую прекрасную горянку стало больше 🕊

I feel the same way about them and their culture. They have strong cultural ties while in America we do not have anything comparable to this. I will say this however in our defense, because of the blending of cultures here, America has created timeless things like Jazz, Rock and Roll, Blues, R&B, Hip Hop and Punk Rock. They could not have been created anywhere else so that is something (maybe the only thing these days) that Americans can be proud of imho.

Can anyone imagine a classic dance being performed at any event in the USA - Wedding or family gathering! Also the beautiful young ladies and men are dressed with a form of class that has gone by the wayside in America! I hope these cultures remain true to their heritage!
There are videos from several years ago on youtube of an 80 years old guy teaching kids how to do these dance in New York. The kids are pretty damn good. Search "Lezginka New York"
Well, actually I play for weddings like these in the Bay Area frequently (before Covid times).
Georgian, Berber, Ukrainian, Lebanese, Circassian - you name it. (I play multiple instruments - panduri, tambura, dhouli, qanun, cimbalom.) Believe it or not, they're all Americans. And they all brought a beautiful culture with them.

I would say Christian Circassia IS a Western Country, the Caucasian or "white" race is named after the Caucasus Mtn region where Circassia is, their clothing here is 100% Western, it is just NOT polluted with recent ugly trends, it is more like 20-30 years ago, also the Caucasus Mtns is the southeast boundary of Europe, and nearby Russia and Ukraine are, socially, culturally and religiously Western Countries, just sometimes not politically compatible with The West. South America is part of The West too, in European-founded culture, society and religion, although many people do not realize it.

I keep coming back to view these different Caucassian (sp?) dances and just marvel at the elegance and brilliance of thse dancers.

Because of immigration a lot of traditions are being lost in Europe sadly.
Have we lost our traditions? Or have people let them go? They are still hanging on, if people care to look.
Traditions die out, not when (as MusiclsLegal suggests) they are subdued by immigration, but when the indigenous people of that culture have no interest in maintaining them.
Tune into the network, find a dance group or take up an instrument and learn the folk songs. That will keep the traditions alive!
