@@accountnolongerinuse738 I understand where you’re coming from, but Frisk and Chara are different from Kris. Kris is their own character, not just the “player’s vessel” for lack of a better word. It’s not something to make a big deal out of, but you’re getting part of Kris’s character wrong by referring to them by the wrong pronouns.
Everyone saying it's 'up to the player' No it's not. Chara, Frisk, and Kris are not husks for us. Chara is connected to the player, but they aren't us fully. Toby Fox called Frisk a 'gender neutral child' in a post way before Undertale was released, Kris is someone else entirely, and Chara actively says to YOU 'You and I are not the same, are we?' Not to mention non-main characters use they/them. Napstablook, Monster Kid, and Seam are all side characters, plus Toby LITERALLY corrects people he was playing DR with when they call Kris and Seam a he. Not to mention he worked on Hiveswap, which canonically have they/them characters. Heck, in his book, he unreleased it when it called Napstablook and Monster Kid a he, just to make it gender neutral.
They all use they/them. Deal with it.

Is it Kris, or is it the *Player* who takes Susie around the light world and dark worlds? The *Player* is Kris's *[Soul]* so the distinction matters. Kris just wants to cause mayhem, it's the *Player* who forces Kris to interact with the people around them. Kris seems to have a motivation to travel to all these worlds, as Kris takes control away from the *Player* during the portal cutscenes. But who is actually the one who wants Kris to bring Susie along for the journey? The *Player* or Kris?
I love the creativity of the fandoms, coming together to create such amazing masterpieces. I have not played Deltarune, but the second I saw the meme in Paper Mario 64, I upvoted. I might have to check it out, I loved Undertale and both Mother 2 and 3. Oh, and Paper Mario 60 freaking 4.

I love how this meme could have EASILY been a super-lazy format of just copy-pasting two sprites into a random screenshot, but instead turned into what's effectively an art prompt of drawing Kris and Susie in every art style imaginable! For some reason, it's just blessed in how it calls out a ton of artistic talent in the community, even spawning a well-made fangame. Maybe I shouldn't have been so surprised-- it's the UT/DR fandom after all, those fuckers poured their heart and soul into roughly half a googolplex of AUs.
