Could you recommend an online store where I can buy this yarn? I would love to make one of these but my country is in lockdown and no yarn shops are open right now :(
We are also in lockdown🙈 I buy it online at Hobbii.com. It is called baby snuggle. It is almost the same as bernat yarn, so if you Can find that anywhere online.
@@DivingDucksCrochet thank you so much this is a massive help! Hope you have a good day:)
You are welcome. And you too❤️
I work at the Michael’s store and they also have lots of great yarn and different types in the Bernat brand! You can either do curb side pickup or get it shipped to your location :)
I like this color- what is the name of it?😅
I think you’re a very good instructor. You go nice and slow it is just sometimes hard to see with the darker yarn. Thank you
You’re welcome 😊
And regarding the darker yarns - I try to keep away from it as much as possible.
/Vibeke
Thank you for your easy to follow instructions- your voice is so calming 💜This will be for my 2nd great grand boy - I’ll post a pic when finished . God bless !
I love the fact that you go slow, and have camera close so we can see, however for the sake of all tutorials I wish you’d use light colored yarn so we can see better, dark yarns make it too hard to see. Thanks for your consideration ☺️
Hi Jody,
thank you for your comments. 😊
I´m aware of the problems with darker colored yarn, but I´m getting better with every video regarding sharpness and colorschemes, so hopefully it will be better for every video. /Vibeke
@@DivingDucksCrochet thank you you’re really great at instruction and closeness of camera, maybe a finished product in the colors you like but for instruction tutorials maybe lighter colors otherwise I think your a very good teacher 💛
@@jodyperkinsdalton5799 I agree, you can't see the dark yarn
You are the best at teaching crochet. Glad I found you
Thank you for sharing. I’m excited to make a blanket using this pattern.
Thank you very much for this good tutorial ! I followed every step and made it ! I’m so happy with the result ! 🥰
Great job and I´m glad You liked it 😊 /Vibeke
Thank you, very easy to follow especially for beginners.
You're very welcome! 😊
/Vibeke
This is super beginner friendly, appreciate it :)
Happy to hear that! 😉
Your instructions is supper good💟
I love this blanket.
Hi Bernice. I love it as well, thats why I made 5 of them 😅 They are SOOO soft and perfect for small ones.
Love this pattern, thank you
You’re welcome 😊
Great video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it! :-) /Vibeke
That isn't how I was taught a hdbl but I like the looks of yours. Glad I watched.
I like the way you have your camera close to the yarn 🧶 take you time so we can see your stitches. Have a good weekend stay safe
Thank you so much, Rosa 😊
Amazing 🤩 thx , I well do one 🖤🖤🖤🔆
Thank you so much😍
Great! Thank you so much
Thank you so much 🙏😊❤️
I brought mine from Amazon, if you are in the UK, they sell Barnet velvet yarn 300g for £12.50 each
what are the dimensions of your blanket? Also, can you give us the details of the skeins you're using how many yards (or meters), and what is the weight/size? thanks!
I actually chanced my mind and chained up 70, in stead of 50, so it became 80 cm wide and 80 cm long. I used 390 yards. The weight is super bulky and a size 6.
hi, is this thread material warm enough for cold temperatures in adults?
Fantastic Demo. Best I've seen! Thank you. One Question... Does it matter if you Yarn over or Yarn Under?
Thank you so much.
No, as long as you are consistent and do it the same way through the whole blanket, it doesnt matter 😊
@@DivingDucksCrochet Thanks!
Me encanta me sale en subtítulo en español, aunque entiendo mucho en inglés 🤩🎆
Encantada. Espero que te gusten mis videos.
Heloo diving ducks..your vedios are very helpfull for the beginners...i have started working with this 50 chain bernat yarn...help me in when to end the blanket..how could we know that blanket knitting is finished ..hope u got my point.thank you
Might be a silly question, but can I crochet a baby blanket with regular Bernat Blanket Yarn? Or does it have to be the smaller baby yarn?
You Can use any yarn ❤️🥰
Ok are u changing pattern every row are two. At first u were doing yo go through one yo go through two. Then chained your two and did yo go through all three right away. Is that the way the rest of blanket? Cause that's the way I have always done mine. Just yo go through all three ar once. Ty. Beautiful work
Its a 1 row repeat. Im doing back loop half double all the way. If I accidentally did a double crochet, it was not on purpose :-)
I think it was just confusing the first time she showed the hdc. I watched it several times and she does it correctly, but the instruction on the very first stitch was a little confusing (at least for me who was trying to watch and do at the same time) - when she says yo go through one, she is talking about going through the chain. This was my first time learning an hdc and I did the whole thing as yo go through one, yo go through three (after already pulling through the chain loop) 🤣oh well, it still looks nice!
Does this also work for variegated yarn? I’m VERY new to crocheting but I think this might be the stitch for me to begin my blanket!
Yes. As long as you pick at hook that fits the yarn, you Can use any yarn you like.
Hvor mange garnnøgler tror du man skal bruge hvis jeg skal lave et almindeligt tæppe til voksne? Og hvad størrelse de bær være
Mit bud er 12 nøgler. Jeg tror man siger 120x180 cm.
How do you finish the blanket, what are you doing for the last row?
I usually have to count my stitches in order to keep my blanket straight. If you chained 70 then turn into your 3 stitch does that mean you will have 68 stitches?
Yes excactly :-)
Hello dear
I’m new to crochet. So can you please show me how to attach the yarns when it’s finished and also how to close the blanket at the end ?!
Thanks
You Can do the magic knot ❤️😊
I believe the stitch you are using for this blanket is called an extended HDC. It is not a HDC. Very nice blanket. I just did it for a baby gift. Thank you for sharing.
Thank You. It’s a very Nice gift. 😍
Yaya Reed you are wrong. It is not an extended HDC! It is HDC in back loop only!
This piqued my curiosity because I was taught that a HDC is yarn over pull through all 3 loops. Skipping the first yarn over pull through 1 loop. I was trying fo figure out the name of this stitch.
I love the stitch. Just wanted to know the correct name of the stitch. Thank you.
I believe the first row was the extended HDC, but the following rows were HDC. Very nice video, but that confused me.
@@betsysimmons7518, I am right. For an extended HDC you pull through one loop, and then you pull through 3 loops. IN an HDC you do not pull through one, you pull through all three loops. She is doing an extended HDC in this video.
How many chains do You do for a 10ft by 10ft blanket?
WAUW Mari!! That is a BIG blanket and expensive!!
You would need 48 skeins and since mine is apx 2,5ft x 2,5ft, you should chain up 4 times what I did.
It´s equal of 16 om my blanket 😮
Just stumbled across your blanket pattern, love it! BUT....its deceiving. Your title says Bernat but you are not using Bernat yarn at all. You are using a Hobbi yarn which is apparently not as thick as Bernat yarn. I have frogged this pattern too many times cause I am not getting the same pattern definition as your yarn. So it is quite deceiving. So if you have used Bernat blanket yarn with this pattern, what size hook did you use? Ive tried a 8mm, 9mm and even a 10mm and cannot even get close to what yours looks like 😢
Er der en grund til at du skifter side når du putter garnet over nålen? Eller er det ligemeget
Det er en virkelig dårlig vane jeg har haft i 20 år. Det er lige meget for mønsteret. Det ser ens ud uanset hvilken vej du kører garnet over/under. Men jeg er med på at det er total forvirrende. (jeg har vænnet mig af med det)
Do u have a boarder for that
Hi there. I have some border/edges tutorials on my channel, so have a look 😊
/Vibeke
how do i add another ball of yarn to this pattern?
Hi Sarah, it depends off what shape you want the blanket? This one is squared and apx 75cmx75cm, so if you want to add 1 extra skein of yarn, I would maybe keep one the the sides the same and just continue the other way, so You end up with 75cmx100cm. If you want it squared you should try to hit apx 87x87cm. Hope this helps?
When you refer to length do you mean desired width?
Yes. Thats it 😊👍
I love the blanket and the way you show how to to do step by step, but dark blue is not a good color to crochet stiches hard to see because of color
I know🙈 I will lever use that colour again 😊
I noticed in the comments you changed from 50 chains to 70 chains. I’m more than halfway through. Do I have to start over? Is there a way to work around it?
Its just because I wanted it a bit bigger. If you like the size, then its fine. You Can always add a border if you want it a bit bigger 😊
I see you chained 70. How many rows did you have at the end?
When you "yarn over" from row 2, you seem to pass the thread 2 different ways, but you don't mention it. Is it compulsory to do it that way?
No, not at all. It´s just a bad habbit :-)
Size 8 thanks
Thank you 😊
What size hook
An 8 mm hook 😊
How do you end the blanket?
And how do you add more yarn!
Just Cut the yarn and pull through the loop. Then weave en the yarnend😊
You Can use the magic knot or just begin crocheting with the new yarn and weave in the ends after 😊
Is there away can i put a name on blanket like name of person
Yes. You Can sew it with your needle ❤️😊

Hello , what is the dimensions of this blanket
Hi Fatma,
it measures 80cmx80cm
@@DivingDucksCrochet Thanks for reply 🌹
How big is it
She stated 80cm x 80cm to another person and chained 75
Yes, thats right. Thank you 😍
80x80 cm 😊👍
Cannot see your stitches on black yarn used in this video. Please use medium or light color yarn in future videos.
What is the name of this stitch?
This is double crochet 😊
Not sure if you are aware.... but you are yarning UNDER when you put the hook into the chain/stitch. So when you do a stitch you are doing; Yo, insert hook into st, yarn under pull up a loop, yo, pull through all loops.
I knooooow :-) Its a very bad habbit that I struggled with for 20 years. I finally learned it the "right" way, and non of my new tutorials are confusing like this one :-)
I also noticed this. Thought this is part of the pattern🤦♀️thank you for pointing this out.
Pour apprendre c'est pas une bonne couleur par c
Bonjour à tous.
Je sais que c'est difficile à voir.
C'était l'une de mes premières vidéos, alors j'essaie de faire mieux maintenant. 😊

I just came to find this video. Was very interested in learning. But I find it difficult in that you are trying to show us how with such a very dark yarn. Please work on that and the volume. Had it up full blast.
Hi Carolyn. Yes, I know the quality of this video is not pitch perfect in either audio or video. It was filmed in my "early days", so hopefully its better now. /Vibeke
@@DivingDucksCrochet thank you 💛💜
