[SK] Jasmína je poprednou osobnosťou v boji proti sexualizovanému násiliu. Traumu zo znásilnenia prekonala založením startupu Moderní sebeobrana a spoluautorstvom knihy Moderná sebaobrana. Učí využívať hlas ako zbraň a vyhnúť sa násiliu prv, než prepukne, pod heslom: Ak sa dnes ozvem, nemusím sa zajtra brániť fyzicky. Je laureátkou ceny Františky Plamínkovej v kategórii feministka roka.
[EN] Jasmína is a leading figure in the fight against sexualized violence. As a rape-survivor she overcame her trauma by founding the Modern Self-Defense startup and co-authoring the book Modern Self-Defense. She promotes emancipatory self-defense at conferences and in excluded locations and tries to get it into the curriculum. She teaches to use the voice as a weapon and to avoid violence before it breaks out under the slogan: "If I speak up today, I don't have to defend myself physically tomorrow." She is the laureate of the Františka Plamínková award in the feminist of the year category.
[SK] Pavel je hlavným lektorom siete škôl modernej sebaobrany, ktoré ponúkajú prevenciu násilia cestou emancipačnej sebaobrany. Výuka vychádza z vedeckých základov a dát o skutočných zločinoch. Vyštudoval Právnickú fakultu Karlovej univerzity, špecializácia trestné právo a kriminológia. Roky pôsobí v neziskových organizáciách na pomoc obetiam trestných činov a verejne presadzuje elimináciu sexuálneho a rodovo podmieneného násilia. Je spoluautorom bestselleru Moderná sabaobrana.
[EN] Pavel is the main lecturer of the network of modern self-defense schools, which offer violence prevention through emancipatory self-defense. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University, specializing in criminal law and criminology. For years, he has been working in non-profit organizations to help victims of crimes and publicly promotes the elimination of sexual and gender-based violence. He is the co-author of the bestseller Modern Self-Defense. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
