It's wonderful to be able to go back and remember just how amazing Jackie Zeman was. Her talent just jumps off the screen. I'm glad the show honored her loss in a way that was befitting of the actress and the character.

i always loved this gh storyline and i loved how close bobbie and carly became eventually. it kind of reminds me of the relationship i had with my father i was estranged from him for more then 30 years until 2011 when he found my brother sister and myself. we eventually became close up until he passed in 2021. rip Dad i love you.

Jennifer B. then took over the role. From what I’ve read online, most people didn’t like her version of Carly. To my understanding, She was fired. Laura Wright then took over the role; has been playing Carly for almost 20 years now. She’s made Carly her own and she’s great at it. I started watching when Tamara was playing her, so of course she’s my favorite, but I can admit that the other actresses brought something special to the role. So of course if you started watching whenever one of these actresses were playing Carly, they’re your favorite. We’re always looking for the next interesting thing and need to let things settle and progress more naturally to be happier individuals overall. In this tiktok 3 second society we tend to miss more and more as we consume more and more.
I think Luke discovered that Carly was her daughter and knew it would devastate Bobbie that this woman who broke up her marriage was her daughter,so he lied and said he looked for her daughter and found out she died.
I missed it too, I was in college. Bobbie is one forgiving lady. I hated how she always defended Carly when she did cruel things after they bonded. But that is a mom for you.
SJB will always be the best Carly to me. I have grown to like and support Carly the way she is now, but if SJB was still playing her I would have hard time liking her because would always associate her with the bad and horrible things Carly did, if that makes sense .

From the time of Lucy's and Damian's bet that he couldn't bed Bobbie, Tony catching Bobbie/Damian in the hospital stairwell leading into Bj's accident, BJ's death/heart going to Maxie, Tony/Bobbie separation, Carly showing up, Tony/Carly affair, leading up to this...followed by Carly shooting Tony in court, all the AJ/Jason/Robin, Sonny stuff, the show gained so much mileage out of overarching storylines. It was so great back then...nowadays, stories don't seem to be told with such foresight and characters are let go or killed off without contributing to good future storylines (Austin, Esme) after altering veteran character backstories (Jimmy Lee was killed, Heather and Ryan had a child? Really?) - there doesn't seem like much longterm payoff for storylines anymore.
I know everyone loves to blame Carly for everything that happened with Tony, but looking back...this was a grown-ass man who got manipulated by someone who was practically a child. The framing of this storyline is ridiculous. What Carly didd was wrong, yes, but Tony was responsible for his own choices. The same way Nicholas was responsible for his own choices when he decided to sleep with someone old enough to be his daughter (nevermind that was his son's girlfriend.).
Yes, with a modern lens it is obvious that Tony was the person who should’ve known better. He was an adult doctor and she was a young nursing student. The power dynamic of that alone is an issue these days.

I loved Sarah Brown way back then. When I watch it play, I look at Laura Wright and wonder how she would act in this scene. Both actresses were very good but, I loved Laura Wright the best.

This scene bothered me because they ran out with all those candles burning. Didn't Lucky burn up, or assumed to have because he let the candles keep burning?
That was long after this scene aired. Lucky was still young preteen/teen when this happened. Lucky started in ‘93 and Carly came to town in ‘96. The fire was in ‘99.
Bobby better back up that tone she’s gonna feel real stupid when Carly is her daughter. Somethings can’t kids can’t just say OK that’s fine you were upset you didn’t know it was me. It reminds me of Nina and I wanna go back and watch the old episodes because the writers suck now they are horrible at writing. Dang Carly and Sam are so much alike amazing they weren’t besties from the beginning both didn’t know Bobbi or Alexis was their mothers and had rocky starts with them.
Would’ve loved to see this scene with Laura Wright as it would parallel Kelly Manaco playing Sam when she found out Alexis was her mother despite hating each other in the beginning.

From the time of Lucy's and Damian's bet that he couldn't bed Bobbie, Tony catching Bobbie/Damian in the hospital stairwell leading into Bj's accident, BJ's death/heart going to Maxie, Tony/Bobbie separation, Carly showing up, Tony/Carly affair, leading up to this...followed by Carly shooting Tony in court, all the AJ/Jason/Robin, Sonny stuff, the show gained so much mileage out of overarching storylines. It was so great back then...nowadays, stories don't seem to be told with such foresight and characters are let go or killed off without contributing to good future storylines (Austin, Esme) after altering veteran character backstories (Jimmy Lee was killed, Heather and Ryan had a child? Really?) - there doesn't seem like much longterm payoff for storylines anymore.
I know everyone loves to blame Carly for everything that happened with Tony, but looking back...this was a grown-ass man who got manipulated by someone who was practically a child. The framing of this storyline is ridiculous. What Carly didd was wrong, yes, but Tony was responsible for his own choices. The same way Nicholas was responsible for his own choices when he decided to sleep with someone old enough to be his daughter (nevermind that was his son's girlfriend.).
Yes, with a modern lens it is obvious that Tony was the person who should’ve known better. He was an adult doctor and she was a young nursing student. The power dynamic of that alone is an issue these days.

But then again, they did the same thing recently with Nicholas and Esme... and then framed it as Ryan putting Esme up to destroying Ava and Nicholas's marriage...when Nicholas was a grown man sleeping with his son's girlfriend. This Carly is the original actress Sarah Joy Brown. She actually came back and played Claudia Zaccara years later and with darker hair. I’ll see if I can find those other clips somewhere.

I loved Sarah Brown way back then. When I watch it play, I look at Laura Wright and wonder how she would act in this scene. Both actresses were very good but, I loved Laura Wright the best.

Virginia Benson was the lady that raised Carly. Her adoptive mother. When Bobbie was searching for her daughter she went to Florida after Luke found Virginia and spoke with her about baby Caroline. This video was actually Luke’s second visit to see Virginia.

This scene bothered me because they ran out with all those candles burning. Didn't Lucky burn up, or assumed to have because he let the candles keep burning?
That was long after this scene aired. Lucky was still young preteen/teen when this happened. Lucky started in ‘93 and Carly came to town in ‘96. The fire was in ‘99.

Yes. They created Claudia for SJB to be able to have a comeback to GH even though LW was ‘Carly’. SJB was the original Carly.
Bobby better back up that tone she’s gonna feel real stupid when Carly is her daughter. Somethings can’t kids can’t just say OK that’s fine you were upset you didn’t know it was me. It reminds me of Nina and I wanna go back and watch the old episodes because the writers suck now they are horrible at writing. They shouldn’t even be riding the show they would’ve never separated the couple that made the show.
