Here's the requested hair look from the Marilyn Monroe video.... - Jak na to + styl
Thanks for the tutorial. But, just an FYI, women in the late 30s into the 40s only used the bandana to keep their hair out of the way when working in the factories while the men were at war. A woman during this time would've never been caught dead wearing a bandana while doing housework or being out on errands. Women were expected to look flawless from the time they woke up to the time they went to sleep. Which meant their hair should be curled and pinned up halfway with victory curls. Just an FYI from a historian.
+America Ford honestly, thank you for this comment cause that was bothering me so much. Does a "Rosie the Riveter" video and doesn't even know who/what Rosie the Riveter was.... Fail.
+Ilinca Olariu That's a little harsh. So what if she doesn't know the history behind Rosie the Riveter? She's doing hair, not an essay. People do historically inspired hair and makeup looks all the time without knowing all the ins and outs, there's nothing wrong with that.
Ilinca Olariu it was a Rosie the Riveter/rockabilly inspired hairstyle. I'm sure if she was actually trying to do Rosie she would have talked about it more.
Opeeen the windowe
This was my most favorite video out of all her tutorials. I used my great grandmother's scarves when I did mine.
Actually my grandma's were a housewives in the 40's and 50's and wore their hair like this all the time. IT wasn't just for women working at jobs, it was for women doing work at home or anywhere! Mothers working at home work just as hard as women working at a "job". And all women need a "workin'" hair do!
She reminds me of Morello and Alex from Orang is the New Black.
I have to watch that show!
Same here. Super cute :D
You remind me so much of Morello from Orange is the New Black.
OMG!! Yesssss!
i must have a weird shaped head. every time i try to tie the bandana up, it just slides up off of my head. :(
Me too. :( I have to use lots of pins
no u can bobby pin it in place!
Same issue here! My head must be big too because my bunny ears are teeny by the time I tie it LOL
another idea is to make an updo that has a little more of a bump at the base of the neck. I have that issue of a weird head also and pins don't work to well. not to much or it will look funny.
me too
I love your videos! You are so fun to watch and I love that you are so uplifting and are never part of the drama the make the beauty community so ugly.
That was too cute of a video. I really enjoyed your sense of humor while showing how to do this hair. Thanks
yes she was in the 40's but I referenced the 50's because women still wore their hair like this too! xoxo
2019 still here ❤❤❤
I have been trying to do this for 2 days. I have watched 3 other tutorials, and it never worked. But you made it easy! Thank You! I am ready for Saturday night's show
Awe!!! I just love this!! I manage contract accounts with Home Depot and being that tomorrow is Halloween and my costume of choice is Rosie the Riveter, I needed some insight on how to tie this tomorrow morning without al the fuss......you nailed it for me!! Thank you!! I'm 35 and absolutely adore the 50's style and vintage classic so this couldn't have been a better choice for me to dress up as than her. Especially for where I work. Your personality shines thru missy!!! Thanks for this!!! 💋😁📽🎞🎼🎷
OMG SHE IS IDENTICAL TO MORELLO FROM ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
hahha i love this video... you're so funny and creative ahah
i dont like it
rebecca paula annnndddd no one cares..
i love you!!!
+Kandee Johnson I'm sad
THANK YOU!!!! Honestly I just started watching your videos yesterday and I am so far impressed!!!!
Perfect, I needed to see this to figure out how to do my Rosie costume this year. Thanks so much.
Half the time she had a generic American accent the other half she kinda sounded like Morello of Orange is The New Black, not sure if it was intentional or not but it kept me amused
can you please do a makeup tutorial on allison vernon williams from cry baby mr.jailer scene i think you would do it perfectly please
You know, I've seen many girls try to pull-off that pin up look, but wow you've got that look like a baby doll pin up gal! ♥
I absolutely love this look !
I love your accent.
She doesn't have an accent.
Marissa Bubbenmoyer Everyone has an accent to everyone else! I'm not from where she's from.
Marissa Bubbenmoyer Oh she has an accent! I love it!
At 6:40 .... And almost the whole video. She has a completely different definition of what rosy riveter stands for -_-
Oh well... Nice hair tutorial though.
j-kitty neko it wasn't really a Rosie the riveter tutorial it was Rosie/rockabilly inspired.
Oh Kandee, this was the first video of yours I ever watched. I revisit this every so often because you are so funny and cute. Glad you're getting the recognition you deserve. xx
I'm so excited! Thanks to you Kandee!
cute look, but girl...get your facts straight...Rosie was not a stay at home wife hahahaha....she worked for the war effort and build bombers , planes and war machinery
And I doubt she wore a blow a blow pop
Lol
Umm... No. Rosie the Riveter didn't vacuum and bake cakes. She built WW11 airplanes and took care of other mechanical duties. Kandee, you're awesome but, your idea of Rosie is a liiiittttllle bit incorrect. Great tutorial tho.
Hopefully by now she's more aware.
So I guess we have had 11 world wars according to you
+shana larson She put "11" instead of "II". I (and most others here) know she was referring to World War 2.
Well I think most 'stay at home' wives wore bandanas like that. Maybe she was referring to that.
Yeah no World War 2/WWII/World War II
i love you Kandee and your sense of humor... your just so funny xx
watching your old videos is adorable.
Someone watch 2016?😂❤️
lol your are funny !
shes just like so boring
rebecca paula
Did she ask about your opinion?
thank you!!! xoxoxo
I love your sillyiness!! You make my morning cup of Joe all smilie
I love all your youtube videos!!! Thank you Kandee!!!!
If you think Rosie the Riveter sat around vacuuming and waiting for the breadwinner you should probably Google it. Lol. She was quite the opposite.
Sara Ferguson she didn't mean Rosie the riveter! She meant just sometimes house wives wore bandannas to clean to keep their hair clean and hair out of their faces. This was Rosie the riveter/rockabilly inspired.
It's actually the 40s era style
THat is so awesome! YOU'RE THE MODERN Day Rosie the Riveter!!!!
this has become one of my favorite videos for a quick hairstyle. Kudos ma'am!!
you don't understand Rosie is a feminist icon of strong women out welding and working
Robin Klotz it was Rosie the riveter/rockabilly inspired not a Rosie tutorial.
So what do black people do?😓
I love your videos Kandee !!!
IloveGerardo! She's awesome!
ok to be honest ur trying to talk american your not actualy it and im just being honest it was quiet boring i didnt watch till the end
Well I guess if I am American, I'm not really trying to talk like an American, since I am one! ha ha ha ha

I love this one. It's really elegant but kind of rocker at the same time.
This was my first Kandee video!!!! Love u!
You're so cute and your videos are fun to watch. Thanks for sharing! 💜
Love it! Thanks Kandee :) I'll be trying this do before I set up my cupcake booth at the farmers market tomorrow.
I can't believe how much negativity she had from people since the very start of her channel. What a strong woman! Look at her now, she has the most CZcams subscribers than these other over hyped beauty guru's. I remember watching her way back & came to look for her to see if she came up, & she did! So happy for her.
You have no idea how awesome you look like that. The voice, the hair. Dear goodness you are a character. Way way, radical. Just...awesome.
I love your accent and cute. Thanks for the tutorial. My hair is very long and thick and wavy, so I get very frustrated. Takes practice practice practice on lots of these styles.
