this game had every opportunity to be unbelievably cursed, but instead it's just... actual Wallace and Gromit
It’s cursed due to the fact it’s Bri’ish.
It’s like watching a show called “Zombies!” but no zombies show up and it’s just normal people going about their day. It’s very unsettling.

It's still cursed, but in the standard "Happy ending is a woman getting eaten by alligators" way.

@Justin Jarzab he became the official backup VA, only to become the official VA after Peter Sallis unfortunately passed away.

Sallis was still the VA for Wallace in Curse of the Were-Rabbit and A Matter of Loaf & Death. Ben Whitehead started around that time, and he’s been Wallace’s official VA since about 2012.
I love how Gromit plays along with the Major when he calls him Private and gives him orders. Really cute lol
He's a good boi.
I actually quite like the major. He just seems like a genuinely nice, if a little misguided, old dude.

"Plays along?" Crum just outranks him. Gromit was in 'Nam with the major, and they both still hold their titles. Gromit's a good soldier.
Probably cuz Crum is the only one that treats Gromit like a human instead of a dog
I love how over the course of this series we've all slowly gone from "Wait, this existed? What the hell" and all the 'this seems like a bad idea' jokes to "This is actually just really charming". It's genuinely very nice.
That's the magic of Wallace and Gromit. It's so charming and lighthearted that it's hard to hate or mock it.
The animation isn't half bad too, honestly a valiant attempt at mimicking the claymation style.
It's cause back before Telltale hit their "big break" with the Walking Dead, their games were genuinely made by smaller teams with passion behind them. Look at Sam and Max, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People...heck, even Jurassic Park and Back to the Future weren't all bad--and that's just talking about the Telltale titles I've played...
But then the Walking Dead was the success that it was, and Telltale decided that all of their games going forward needed to be Choose Your Own Adventure formats, with multiple endings. And then the licenses started rolling in, and even though some of those titles had genuine quality to them (like The Wolf Among Us and even Tales from the Borderlands), people were getting burnt out at feeling like they had no control over where the story was going.
And that, I think, was the problem--the games after Walking Dead fostered a sense of needing to hurry through the story, but also not giving players much control over how the story played out. Whereas in the pre-Walking Dead titles, while players still didn't have control over the story's ending, there wasn't an active game mechanic trying to push you to the end, and you could take your time exploring and enjoying the world that had been made.
And worse, these post-WD titles have, in some ways, corrupted modern audiences enjoyment and perception of the older titles: RT displayed and example of this, and it was exactly the same kind of reaction that my best friend had when I had him play the Sam and Max games--an expectation that "your choices matter". (Yes, I'm fully aware that RT was half joking, but the fact remains that when anyone who *didn't* grow up "with" Telltale growing up thinks of them, they immediately think of the mechanics of the post-WD games, and not the classic adventure games that Telltale was *founded* around to continue)
@@hubdweller9969 It's legitimately sad that the TWD game basically forced them to only do those types of games since it's what brought them into the mainstream, but their point and click adventure games just have way more charm than anything else they made afterwards apart from like, TWAU since that was, to my knowledge, not an IP adaptation.

You can ruin Felicty and Mcbiscuit's relationship's progress in the game by bringing the 'Pirate's gold' paper to the announcer at the stage when playing as Wallace.

This is surprisingly dark considering quotes such as "another blinkin' dead dog?!" and "Blinkin' engine must've, ahem, 'died' again..." meaning that many dogs must've died under Monty's reign of terror.
Considering how he mentioned orphanages before correcting himself, I think it’s more than just dogs

Gromit’s four-legged walk cycle is so uncanny that I feel my soul shrivel up whenever I see it

As someone whose childhood W&G game was Project Zoo (where Gromit walks bipedally the whole game), it's doubly cursed for me. Heck, Gromit walks on two legs most of the time in the original animations, too, I wonder why Telltale decided otherwise for this series...

More games, no, ALL media needs more bloopers. Its fun to listen to, really humanizes the whole thing, and it also gives aspiring voice actors a realistic expectation. They rarely use the first take of anything.
I remember Disney used to have bloopers. Some of my favourite parts. Lion King has one iirc

I took care of some Cornish hens over the summer and let me tell you, this game's portrayal of them as 100% ready to eat a man because some birdseed fell on him is completely accurate.

Wallace swearing like a sailor is easily the best thing Telltale ever brought us.
FYI for anyone curious: 'cream crackered' is cockney rhyming slang, meaning broken (rhymes with 'knackered'). 'Shufty' means a look, so Wallace said, "This machine might not be broken after all! Let's take a look."

The part where Point n' Clicks often have unbelievably weird/cursed solutions for puzzles actually kinda matches the weird inventions made by Wallace and Gromit
Wallace and gromit are so pure it’s hard to make a bad game, it’s just the usual workplace health and safety violations and wholesome adventures
Dude couldn't have picked a worse breed of dog to run his machines... Greyhounds and Whippets are fast, but they have no endurance. After 5 minutes of running they are spent and sleep the rest of the day. They're colloquially known as 40mph couch potatoes. :P

Watch The curse of the were-rabbit. That's a great full length movie. Some shorts that I recommend are "A grand day out", "A close shave" and "A Matter of Loaf and Death" all great ones that I grew up watching.

My favourite thing retroactively realising is Peter Sallis basically just spoke normally for Wallace's voice- so there's a massive untapped direct voice libary for W&G shitposting in stuff like Last of The Summer Wine with him going on empassioned rants about how bad Australia is

@@Zero001LP They're all back up on Steam after LCG bought most of Telltale's stuff, I think. But yeah, it's funny to think that before The Walking Dead's success made them rework their entire business, Telltale was just making... good ol' quirky point and click adventure games. And they're a really fun time.
@@ExeloMinish They were comprised of former Lucas Arts employees when they started, so them being good at point and click shouldn't really be a surprise I suppose.
I want to remind everyone that thanks to this masterpiece of a game, we have voice recordings of Ben Whitehead (current voice actor for Wallace) saying stuff like "You ate all these pies? You fat b*stard."
I love how nice Wallace is when he interacts with animals, like Hutch, Shaun, Fluffles, and Twitch.

Mrs Gamberly is a treasure! Easily my favourite character! She’s the sweetest person alive and yet she takes crap from no one. She’s never rude unless she’s insulted first and she never goes against Wallace or Gromit.
I just love that they have the same vibe as the actual shows. heck the details they included - they even animated in the holes in the irises for the characters (which were used in the stop motion puppets to move them into different directions). such a lovely little game, glad to have seen you play this series :D

There’s something oddly sinister yet entertaining about this. I think it’s the uncanniness of the 3D models doing their best to emulate claymation, yet it’s still somewhat charming because it’s Wallace and Gromit writing
Can't believe the editor removed the part about the nut for the gear shift that is later the proposal ring in the final moments, the foreshadowing and story telling is so deep
The stream was great because for like 40 minutes RT and us were trying to shoot and/or grease everything we possibly could to figure out the inside of the Muzzler ride.

Twitch reminds me so much of my dog. With his long snout and skittish attitude. And even more since my dog gets really brave whenever one of us gets hurt. Even bit my brother once because my dog caught him punching me in the face.
Next time I get a new dog, Twitch will be for sure it's name.

With how limited the animation is, but I would’ve loved stop-motion animation for the game from Aardman themselves. Especially seeing as there are no choices that actually effect the story

It’s really cute to see how many people are getting into Wallace & Gromit from this series. I grew up with the VHS of A Grand Day Out, and I watched it til the tape wore out.
This is the kind of thing I love to see RT playing. It's sweet, but it also resonates well with his sense of humour. Cheers me right up!
