You pack it in you pack it out. We have had two shooting areas her in northern Santa Barbara county area close because of crap like this, not to mention the BLM land at the Carizzo plains no longer allows target shooting because people won't pick up after themselves, shameful.
Sadly all BLM land in Riverside county is closed right now due to fire danger 09/02/2016. But I spoke to the Ranger and he said the shooting area in Perris will re open in November once fire season is over.
suthi loeur seeing how you guys clean up after yourselves you guys should hit up a range by diamond valley gulf club. The owner allows ppl to ride dirt bikes and shoot on the back. He does keep an ear out for any explosions and rapid fire. I've bumped into sheriffs there but they were really cool didn't check our firearms or anything he did check IDs because we are in the gulf owners property but. Really cool place I am having a hard time keeping it clean lots of tires and left over trash.

The area is east of the 15 freeway of on Nichols Rd. in Lake Elsinore area. I believe this area is closed now but I have not checked it out myself. BTW Rainbow Shooting Range is now $300 for the yearly membership. The other range around here would be at Pala native american land.

6-16-16 I have went a few times recently and there is a sign in place saying you can't shoot I've never seen any law enforcement while shooting but going up the road we did see a cruiser escorting a big group down the hill so they do go and ask you to leave. I still go to the spot and shoot a few hours pick up my targets and leave but just stay responsible with your areas.
I just saw an article where a few families who went shooting up in Barstow got sited and some arrested for possession of restricted items. Seem like they are cracking down everywhere.

I drove personally to both shooting areas and they are both permanently close. I called the BLM rnger station and found out that the Bee Truck trail shooting area is open for shooting on the outskirts of Hemet. I drove there and found that the roads that lead up to the shooting area are closed due to water damage. I cant will. Hope is lost in Southern California. They dont want us to shoot.
@@JohnLocke1776 They were cited by San Bernardino Sheriffs. I called a Victorville gun shop and they were very helpful. There is still open BLM land and if you have a truck or 4X4 you can access safe spots. Just dont go alone take friends or family for safety reasons.
Michael Cook they recently closed it down, called the blm and they said that the sheriff closed steele peak😑 not sure why , if anyone knows of any other spots let me know , i been looking to go towards the desert in berdoo , or even long canyon . by Indio but that's far away.
Get off on the Lake Elsinore Outlets exit you will see an Arco off the freeway. Go east away from outlets and you will pass a rock quarry. Continue about 3 miles. You will see the "No shooting" signs. I wouldnt recommend continuing as you could get ticketed.
Now I remember going here all the time I live just on the other side of the mountain there and I'll tell you I remember people coming from San Diego and Los Angeles just to come and shoot I cleaned up the best I can and would sometime pay a $30 dump fee at CR&R just to dump other people's trash I hated it but I did it to save the range it was really convenient for me when I had to teach new shooters how to shoot I miss this range now I have to find another one before it wasn't this bad but now people from other cities ruined it for the locals .....there is other spots nearby in Hemet. And lake Elsinore.. but you have to find them..

If you go to google maps you can see the off road area and there is no mistaking where the shooting was taking place. Sorry I don't have coordinates but anyway it looks like it is finally closed for good.

Used to shoot out in Ocotillo when I was stationed in SD. Same problem but 10 times worse that what you showed in that video. XBOXes, Computers, TVs, couches, ect ,ect, ect. Me and my buddy would go out there to shoot drills and other stuff we couldn't do on a "square range". We'd haul a truck load of trash back with it every time. We never put a dent in it. :( Far more people were trashing the area than cleaning it. I'm sure it won't last another few years before getting shut down.
They must have turned around recently. I was there as recently as May and it was a garbage dump. From a distance you coudln't tell but if you went walking out and setting up targets and steel there was trash everywhere.
Good day shooting enthusiasts! As of 03/17/2024 this area above is closed for shooting. I have personally verified it. Also the "Christmas Tree Lane" spot in Perris also closed for shooting. I have also recently checked the BLM land past Hemet known as Bee truck trail and although it is open for shooting the road is closed due to water damage making the roads dangerous. There are signs prohibiting driving on them. Barstow is open according to a Victorville Gun shop who I called last week to check to see if the area was open for recreational shooting. He did suggest I drive in a couple of miles due to lack of gun safety by weekend shooters nearer the freeway. 4X4 recommended. Be safe out there gents and remember that BLM land is patrolled by Rangers who will check your weapons and ammunition on demand. So better safe than sorry.

I always take a big rake with me and clean up the casings and shells on my favorite little shooting part. but it's always dirty whenever I come back every couple months!

If you live near there maybe you can drive by and see if any signs are posted about no shooting. Due to the fire danger I'm sure it will be closed. I guess I have no choice but to join the Rainbow shooting club near the Border Patrol station off the 15 frwy.
There are two near lake Elsinore at least that's what a L A county sheriff who lives in the area and I won't mention the spot here because I have not gone yet and would hate to have it ruined before I even get a chance to go. I can't imagine it would be impossible to find seventy five shooters willing to use a poop scoop and a rank to get the shells and see if waste management would donate a truck to haul large items away.

I usually go out to beaumont to shoot. Where is this located though? I always tell everyone I go with that we have to leave the place cleaner than when we got there, so after shooting we fill up our trash as well as others that we can fit. If everybody did that the place would be spotless again.

Fire restrictions go in place April 10th 2019 then it will be closed for the season but the desert is always open just stay east of hwy 62 in Riverside County
Yup, take trash bags, gloves. Always clean up your trash, and then take some extra. Stop shooting glass. You make the place unsafe for kids. Stop shooting TV's and electronics considered hazardous waste. These see shooting areas, not dumps.

Dude the shooting spot in perris ca off the 74 hwy is closed for good... I didn't read the sign when I drove up there... troopers came with in minutes.... almost have me a 280 dollar ticket.... but because I was setting up my table and haven't shot off any rounds... they gave me a break........ There are two near lake Elsinore at least that's what a L A county sheriff who lives in the area and I won't mention the spot here because I have not gone yet and would hate to have it ruined before I even get a chance to go. I can't imagine it would be impossible to find seventy five shooters willing to use a poop scoop and a rank to get the shells and see if waste management would donate a truck to haul large items away.

I usually go out to beaumont to shoot. Where is this located though? I always tell everyone I go with that we have to leave the place cleaner than when we got there, so after shooting we fill up our trash as well as others that we can fit. If everybody did that the place would be spotless again.

All of western riverside county is closed to target shooting per rvc county ordinance 514 has been closed for a long time. Anything west of hwy 79

Valentin Gonzalez, old banning idylwild rd area off of sunset and the 10. Exit sunset and go south for 5.1 miles to BLM land. Or you can go to DHS long canyon
Fire restrictions go in place April 10th 2019 then it will be closed for the season but the desert is always open just stay east of hwy 62 in Riverside County

You should see the spot outside banning. This is absolutely nothing, that place looks like a city dump.
I liked that area but people leave trash all over specially those shotgun shooters., my friends will pick our own trash including our brass
Pigs! People need to take a rake and fill up a bucket or two of shells even if they’re not your shells to help out with maintaining these spots
Yup, take trash bags, gloves. Always clean up your trash, and then take some extra. Stop shooting glass. You make the place unsafe for kids. Stop shooting TV's and electronics considered hazardous waste. These see shooting areas, not dumps.

No bud. Long been closed. I headed out there 6 months ago and signs everywhere warn of trespassing.
I agree with you its a nice place to shoot and target practice.its common sense after you shoot clean it up so we can still have a place to go shoot.thanks for that.

Dude the shooting spot in perris ca off the 74 hwy is closed for good... I didn't read the sign when I drove up there... troopers came with in minutes.... almost have me a 280 dollar ticket.... but because I was setting up my table and haven't shot off any rounds... they gave me a break........ DONT GO THERE

TOTALLY AGREE, PICK UP YOUR SHIT. Growing up here in the IE it was always clean cuz WE cleaned up after our selves and RESPECTED the land and OTHERS. I know BLM ordered a dumpster for the Perris Range, wonder if we could get one out here

4-15-17 sheriff's out today they stopped me and told me BLM has shut it down and will be fining people a $1500.00 fine for shooting. reason is for the 2 deaths they had here
