Summary of this year's Lantern Rite which consisted of:
Part I - The Orioles Bask in Spring, the Heavens Present Auspices
The Traveler and Paimon realize that another year has passed since the last Lantern Rite and head back to the harbor to partake in the festival. They are approached by two suspicious looking people who reveal themselves as Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver.
The two reveal that they had come to the city looking for Cloud Retainer, as Jueyun Karst had been unusually quiet and failed to inform them about the year's festivities. They find and inform Longzhou of the shipment, which he takes.
Gaming explains to the Traveler the purpose of people like him, who were there to protect the goods from malicious intent. Once they arrive at Yilong Wharf, Gaming prepares the agency's famed Sunglo Tea and unloads the goods, and asks the Traveler to meet him in two days.
The Traveler agrees to host a workshop at Mt. Aocang with Shuyu, Shenhe, Ganyu and Yaoyao, and tells Paimon that she has no need to hire a guard.
Part II - A Cloud-Sea Appeal, a Brilliance Revealed
Two days after the Cloud-Sea Appeal, a Brilliance Revealed, the Traveler meets up with Gaming at Xinyue Kiosk, where Gaming orders a large amount of dim sum for the three to enjoy. Gaming tells them that he normally doesn't eat lunch after having dim sum, and Paimon is surprised.
Gaming offers to go with Paimon and Xianyun to Mt. Aocang for Xianyun's kite-making workshop, as he has to reformulate the luminescent dyes.
When the Traveler and Paimon arrive at Mt. Aocang, they find Xianyun's disciples making kites. Xianyun, angered by the intrusion, reverts to her illuminated form and heads out to find where the source came from, only for Paimon to blurt out their true identities.
The Traveler and Paimon return to Mt. Aocang to find most of the others gone. Ganyu and Shenhe tell them that Gaming offered to take Shuyu and Yaoyao back to the city after they tired themselves out from playing, and Xianyun resolves to help him.
Part III - The Glede Returns to the Pavilion
The Traveler and Paimon prepare to help Gaming and his father reconcile, but are ambushed by two bandits. Tak is worried about his son's safety, but Paimon begins coughing in an inconspicuous attempt to inform him of Cloud Retainer's plan.
Paimon tells Zhongli that Tak is worried about his son, who is also the guard escorting him. Zhongli tells Tak that Gaming is very skillful and encapsulates the spirit of the suanni, despite such dancers having their own hardships hidden away from the viewers.
Gaming returns, having immediately suspected that the two "bandits" were actually sent by them, and Paimon insists that he try to talk to his father. Xiao helps out with the kites, and tells the Traveler to meet him at Pervases' Temple after the Lantern Rite.
Back at the tea stall, Gaming and Tak try to start a conversation, though Xianyun and Shenhe interrupt their conversation with awkward talk. Tak tells Gaming that he doesn't support the idea of him living in the harbor.
The group meets up with Charlotte, the "important client" that Longzhou had mentioned, and agrees to interview Gaming about his tea. Gaming is impressed by the Traveler's connections and realizes that everything was an act, but is impressed by how Xianyun was looking out for him.
The Traveler and Paimon head back to Zhenyuan's stall to buy a Mechanical Vertical Lifting Device, but she insists on giving them one free of charge.
The Lantern Rite starts with Gaming impressing the crowd with his wushou skills, and then Xianyun uses her adepti powers to send out her own kite and catch all the other kites in its wake.
Gaming returns to the pier, finds his father and Shuyu, and is touched by his father's change of heart. He decides to thank everyone who helped him, get together and fly a kite.

Gaming stole my heart from the very first interaction. He is so relatable. I remember having a parent like that. Also, I keep laughing when they say ''Go fly a kite''. Out of context that turns into slang for ''Go f yourself'' loll!!

The cool thing is that the dialogue changes depending on if you did Lantern Rite last year or not. If you did, he talks about the adepti and Zhongli meeting on Mountain Shaper's mountain and using her 'Supreme Cuisine Machine' together. It's really cool. Also, you should know of his Karst Crawlers if you got through the Liyue story. Since you visit his mountain early on in the Liyue Act.
P.S: did you know that Zach Aguilar, Aether's VA, also does Moon Carver (deep voice Zach is amazing!)

gaming was only able to perform the dance because bird mommy was levitate him. if u look carefully on 2:18:15 on every steps he takes on the water green anemo energy splashes of the water

Hutao planned it too well this lantern rite. Instead of her buying sesame oil as an excuse to invite Xiao, she set up Zhongli himself to be there, and even made him bring 2 kites 🥹🤣

As much as I would have loved to see two beloved characters to meet, it is not yet time for the Hydro Sovereign to pass his judgement on Deus Auri. Neuvillette is, at least so far, the only one to call Zhongli that. Personally, I believe that the judgement will be a positive one. These two mysterious gentlemen with their mysterious constellations are so fascinating and I look forward to how things develop in the future.
As a non-competitive side-character, I enjoyed everything except the 'PvP Dance Party' during this Lantern Rite. My one regret is that I was lazy before Lantern Rite and did not complete Xianyun's Story Quest first as knowing who the little girl, Shuyu, is would have made it still a little more special. Still, this was my favorite Lantern Rine of the three I've seen. :)
OH NO I DIDN'T DO THAT ONE EITHER so I didn't get to appreciate Shuyu as much but thank you for sharing your reaction! I'm excited to see the two sovereigns meet, and yeah the pvp section was interesting! I struggled with the Guoba and rabbit mini game haha.
